2011 Radio/Nav Security Code(s?) question
2011 Radio/Nav Security Code(s?) question
Hey guys,
I just bought a 2011 TL SH-AWD last week. I realized after I bought it and got home, that I only located one security code. It's a 5-digit code. I spoke to the dealership that originally sold the car, and that was all they had as well. The person I spoke to said there should also be a 4-digit Nav Code, but they didn't have it.
Some people have said it's one code for both, while others have said separate codes for each. Can anyone clarify, please?
If it *IS* two codes, how the hell am I going to track down the other code??
Thanks much in advance!

Have you looked through your vehicle booklets/manuals? I think specifically there's one called Maintenance Journal or Service History, or New Vehicle Inspection. Look at the first page there and it may be written on there.
Thanks for the reply! I looked everywhere through the manuals, and also through the car for the stickers. The only one I found was the 5-digit code, adhered to the inside of the cover of the fuse box. That number corresponded with what the dealer had. No other numbers to be found anywhere though.
Oh well so much for an easy fix! We'll have to get more in-depth then.
There should be a diagnostics menu for the navigation unit, get to it by pushing and holding the "map/guide", " menu", and "cancel" buttons at the same time. (That's specific to my 2008 Navi unit but should be the same for yours)
Once you are in there, select Unit Check and then Navi ECU. It will list your Serial Number.
Call the dealer and ask them to look up the code based on your serial number.
