2011 NAVTEQ update?

Just ordered and installed the Red 2011 update DVD. $185.00
It does not show a major Highway (64/40) in Missouri being completed? This roadwork was completed in January of 2010.
Needless to say, I'm pissed! It's the major reason we bought the update.

Maybe my install did not complete properly?
Screen says it is updated.

Can someone that has the same DVD update, please PM me?

I want to see if it's just my install.

I'm looking for Hwy 64/40 roadwork completed between 170 and Kingshighway just west of downtown St Louis. Mine doesn't show it?

Thanks!

Thanks for posting. I was thinking about ordering the update to take care of this very problem. On my '10 TL, the map shows no road at all there. Apparently not solved on this "update."

Jan. 2010 completion of a highway is too soon for Navteq to get it into their database and then distribute the database to the OEMs out there like Acura, Garmin, etc.

I would wait at least a year and even then that's extremely quick and lucky!

After I convinced Navteq that the street that I live on exists, it took 2 years after they acknowledged the missing data for it to show on the Garmins. My street was completed in 2000. I didn't bother to tell Navteq until 2005 that it's not in their DB and it showed up in 2007.

Why didin't I notify Navteq sooner? I didn't have a GPS and didn't know that it wasn't there.

This highway was closed for repairs for 2 years, and WAS scheduled to re-open in 2010.

Good News

I called my dealer and told him the situation.
Apparently, there is an error on the update and it does not show the new section of Highway 40/64 as an interstate, therefore it will re-route around it unless you change your settings to minimize freeways?
The update for the MDX and TSX shows it, but that software is on a different platform and won't work on the TL?

Anyway, the dealer called Acura and approved a refund of my $185.00 if i send the DVD back.

It's on its way!

Agreed. Incredibly aggravating. If I remember correctly, google maps had it updated within a couple weeks of opening.

I opened a Navteq account and sent a "Map report" on 12/30/2010 of the inaccuracy. I now see that the case was "closed". I don't know when they closed it and I'm not 100% sure why they closed it. Tracking number NVTQ000013073958. What I can tell you is that Navteq.com now shows the highway open, while traffic.com (a navteq-owned site still shows the old inaccurate map).

The point is, I'm sure Kingmeow must be correct... they must have missed the deadline. I just sent a follow-up email to Navteq asking when it would post. (I had sent one earlier and did receive a helpful reply). If I find anything out I'll repost. I am hoping that they already had this in the works long before I sent my request, but who knows.
