I have a 2010 TL, purchased new, which for the most part has been a great car. Recently the navigation system has been acting up. When the car is first started it might take up to a minute or more for the system to 'boot up'. And then any command (zoom in/out, audio screen, etc) or location update is delayed by anywhere from a few seconds to more than a minute. Eventually it does update the screen. Has anyone experienced a similar problem with their navigation system? I'm thinking that it might be a problem in the HDD unit.

Have you updated the software at all since 2010? There's been quite a few iterations since then... I've updated my car twice in a year and a half of ownership.

 

I did update the software about 2 or 3 years ago and as you indicated there's probably been a few updates since then.

 

It may be worth trying that out. The update for 2016 just went on sale

I'm actually in the process of swapping out the stock hard drive with a solid state drive to see if it speeds up the interface. The stock one leaves a bit to be desired - slow boot, response, etc
