Ok, in my 2010 TSX, when I placed a call from the handset, the HFL automatically picked it up and transferred it to the car's speakers.

However, in my 2010 TL, I have to stab at the HFL button on my phone repeatedly to get the car to take over the call. Usually, it only works after the person on the other end picks up.

Is there a trick here I'm missing? The manual wasn't much help.

 

One day later and 50 views, and no one has any advice on getting the TL to pick up a call dialed from the handset?

 

same problem with my 09...if i place from the car itself, theres no problem, but from the handset, i have to keep hitting back and forth to iPhone and HFL on the screen, and wont really do anything until the other party picks up, its been like that since my iPhone 3G/3GS and my 4 regardless of the phones software version

 

That sucks. BTW, the 2010 TSX automatically transfers handset-dialed calls to the HFL.

 

I think not many people said much because all of us with the iPhone 4 know that it's a little problem.

I am not sure what circumstances you face that prevent your doing it, but it's always going to be better either dialling from the nav screen, or use the phone book that has been uploaded to the car's storage system from your iPhone.

If you must dial from your iPhone, then the only advice I can give is to wait until you are stopped and have the time and patience for it, dial the number, and when you can tell that it is going through, then hit the button to switch to the car's system.

I haven't found any easier way to do what you're saying. I'll generally just AVOID doing what you are saying!
