the Nav started to act up since the beginning of the month. every time you choose a destination from the OK button, the system reboot. please see the attached URL for the video. anybody run into this problem?

Yeah, I had my navigation randomly rebooting like that too. I took it to the dealership and they just replaced the unit under warranty. But, he said he wanted to verify the battery was okay and that the XM signal wasn't causing it first (which apparently can be culprits as well).

 

Thanks. i stopped XM awhile back in 2010, and have a new battery in 2012. it has been fine until this month. is there a way to reset the NAV system? the reset to factory default from the setup menu didn't work. thanks again

 

do you mind if i asked when did you get the system replace by the dealer? my 09 TL has 90K+ miles on it.

 

I didn't find a way to reset the nav, so not sure if there is a way to do that. I had it replaced a few months back. Mine has about 51k miles, still under CPO.

 

I believe our nav's are sourced from Alpine, so if the dealership is going to be too expensive, maybe you can contact them to see if there is another option they can offer?

 

Got it fixed with the 2014 Red DVD Application Update 2.8 DISC 1. I borrowed DISC 1 from a friend and used it to do the update. didn't use DISC 2 to update the map of course because of the VIN + Password.
