Working High/Low DRL SMD BULBS!! NO Error signs! Ijdmtoy.com

I recently came across IJDMTOY located in San Gabriel, CA

They are experts on LED's they got everything!

This week, i went there for them to test out their SMD DRL conversion for my TL and it came out fantastic.

They were able to get it working without error's on top of that a working high beam as well.

The wiring kit is
http://store.ijdmtoy.com/LED-Daytime...decoder-01.htm

and you have to buy SMD bulbs separately.

call them up or email them, so far i think their the first to get LED/SMD DRL's working properly with dual functions

Install time, it took about 15 mins, nothing to fancy, no splicing of wires, etc, everything is connection plugs only.

overall i am more than happy about this product

Here is a couple of pictures, im going to make a video soon and some night shots.

Does this mean you lose your hi-beam functionality?

well it will still high beam, but it wont be as bright as stock.. but lets just say if you high beam someone, they will know.. i tried to high beam at night and output of the light is not strong, but you can still high beam when your low-beams are on and also if drl is on, you can still flick the high beam switch and it will be brighter.

yea true, here in cali, we only need high beams for one reason and one only.. to flash people when they cut you off or to signal someone.. i personally have not used my high beams before on this car.. needless to say i rather put the function into good use and make it look better...

its all on personal opinion.. i think the stock color of the drl looks ok but not great... this is a great addition.. also if your running independent fog light then it will look even better.

Hey Potmilkz,

In your video, are you just flashing the brights or are you leaving them on? It looked like to me like you just had them flash to high. I'd love to get these on my car, but I need better video of bright vs low beam.

Can you video your lights on (low beam) then brights on (low off, high on) then back to low beam, so we can see what the difference really is.

This would save me a lot of trouble.

Also, can these DRL bulbs be installed without removing the bumper?

Thanks... looks great

yes the install takes about 5 mins.. its just plug and play and only requires you to open the hood and take off the plastics for the engine.

the led's do have a low and high beam function but its not a very big difference compared to stock bulbs but they do get other cars to notice you if your flashing them with it. I will try to get a video tonight or a picture of low and high beams against a wall but i will defiently say to get this product.. makes the car loook soooooooo much better.. and plus if your like me, where you dont use your high beams at all (cali never gets that dark) then change it out..

These are for show, do not depend on these if your driving in Maine. I've used H7's for my bike because at first I didn't want to drill holes on the weather caps. I was hanging with my friends house down the street and by the time I left it was dark, luckily I knew the road, I couldn't see anything. For show these are cool, but not for driving.

There is, but it is significantly lower than stocks and your HIDs will probably overpower it. I had the Philips 85122+ and now the 85122WX and it overpowered the hi-beams and could barely see them.

I used to have these and didn't like them because they were dim as hell and had error messages. I bought everything they told me to buy and i told them the problem, they then tell me to buy something else, so everything would have been 15% more than what was first mentioned. I then said, I wanted to return it, but I had to pay a 15% restocking fee.

Just wanted to let you guys know my experience, it may be different for others. They did have good response times to my concerns. I would buy again, but not for these unless they fixed it and have a more powerful output.

Now I have used it for a while, I have found a few minor issues (may not be their fault).

1. Still has DRL error msg on my Information message. It says it may be out and need to contact dealer for repair. This is on a 2012 TL.

2. As other have noticed, our TL outpout half the power during DRL, and it makes the LED dimmer. The only way is to bump it to +12v. I think V-Leds have similar harness, and from reading their user comments, it does work with full power, since it connects straight to the battery.

I may end up returning it and getting the V-LEDS if it solve the above two issues. Just FYI.
