Wood Dash - Any Pictures?

I'm thinking about getting my dash redone in wood. Has anyone had this done? If so, do you have pictures and/or information on the shop that did it?

Anything you have would help. Thanx

I also think that large expanse of black vertical console seems to need something--if not wood then maybe brushed aluminum?

Genuine wood trims will always give the inside of a car an expensive and luxury touch.

^but it's expensive and time consuming to do it right. If you don't do it in real wood it looks horrible.

I second potmilkz, it's not a Jaguar. Wood doesn't "fit" w/ the car's styling.

I guess different strokes for different folks since I fall on the side of the wood looking not all that bad. If I went with wood I would try and tone it down--I think what Acura was using in the early TL-S models looked pretty good (a greyish burl). Moreover, the fact that there are several of these aftermarket wood dash companies thriving makes me assume that somebody must be ordering those kits.

I wonder if anybody either has a photo or can photoshop what the interior would look like with satin aluminum on the console--this would sort of blend in with the other silvery trim used at the interior (which, by the way, in my opinion looks very cheap). Who ever came up with those swoopy plasticky trim strips?

Ya either a wood tone that looks like its better quality or certain carbon fibre accents.

Actually I was looking into it because I thought it replaced the current trim pieces but it is only stickers.

After I watched an install video it looks really cheap and uses adhesives to stick on stock pieces. It looks like its elevated off the surface too....

I have a little wood lock in the center console and shift knob. It looks tasteful there. I Love wood and have it in my Miata. I must admit after seeing the pic, of the TL its just over the top. Mine is very tasteful. I have the stock wood that comes in the base. Had the dealer do an exchange.

Put me down as a NO for the wood inside the TL. I have never liked a wood interior...thats just me though.

It's funny that one of the many reasons why I bought my 4G TL was that it did NOT have any wooden bits in the interior! I like the fact that it's modern and more futuristic looking. Just my opinion...

Some cars look great with the wood trim while others not so much. To me it depends on the flow of the dash itself. In my opinion the 4g TL's dash fits that latter category. It's not just the style of car but the flow of the dash that doesn't lend itself to wood. But if you happen to fall into the former category that's ok - it's your car and you have to be happy with it.
