I think that was just a teaser. I'm sure he'll have a new, much more detailed thread up before too long.

After seeing his earlier post in this thread, I was wondering what he was up to...

Looks like you have the basis for a proper mugen grill there ... any reason/need to muck it up with the insert?

Waiting for the go ahead from the customer so I can start work and the thread. Of course everything will be documented for anyone who wants to try at it themselves. The only down side is that is fiberglass, but the grille itself seems to be solid.

Not sure exactly what you mean? I am thinking about adding the insets from the '12 though.

Why paint the "signature grill".

Personally it was the only thing about the car I wasn't a fan of. I just straight up replaced mine with the RJ one - never looked back, never regretted it. Still have the stock grille in the garage just in case i ever go back.

A proper Mugen sports grill basically has the 'insert' removed and the area is backed with a mesh material. That is what I originally thought you were going to do when I saw the earlier post with just the frame/surround.

Oh no.....not this "age old" question again.....

Well then, ask-why modify the car at all? It's really all a matter of preference. Some people like bone-stock. Others love to make it more to their liking.
