What Should I Expect To Pay For A 7 Yr/100k Mile Extended Warranty With $0 Deductible

On the Acuracare website I see an offer for a 7 yr/100k $0 deductible warranty for $1290 with a promotional offer of $95 off, bringing down the net cost to $1195.

I've never bought an extended warranty before and would never have even considered it were it not for the fact that I expect to keep this car for over 5 years and it does have a shitload of electronics in it. The first one of those to fritz out is almost certain to cost me pretty much what they're charging for this warranty.

And the fact that these extended warranties are transferable should I decide to sell the car before the warranty would end makes it a selling point to offer any future potential purchaser.
  • I believe this warranty pretty much mirrors what the car's regular warranty covers which is essentially everything except brakes and "normal wear" items. Is that correct?
  • And are these "AcuraCare" warranties universally honored at any Acura dealership?
  • And is it really $0 deductible or are there hidden fees?
  • Finally, is the $1195 about as good as I'm going to be able to do or are there better deals out there?
TIA for all of your help!

There are a number of Acura dealers selling the Acura Care extended warranties on the internet that will probably have better prices than your dealer offers you. At the least you can use their prices to bargain your dealer down.

Acura Care is the official extended warranty and will be honored at any Acura dealer. If you Google "Acura Care Extended Warranty" you'll find the 3-4 dealerships offering the warranties online.

I recently paid $1400 for 6 yr/100K on my RL (that was wrapped, bumper to bumper and powertrain). My price was a little high in my opinion, really should have been more like $1200, but I ran the sales guy around for 2 weeks and just wanted to get it done. I would think $1200 to $1500 is fair. Online after sale they go a lot cheaper ($800 to $1200). Your dealer will tell you that you can't get it after market, but there are a few dealers on AZ here that will sell them. I wanted it then, so I lived with the price.

Yea I see that curryacuracare.com offers a 7 year 100 miles warranty for 1195. Is there any better deals out there or do you think that dealers will honor these prices or make it even lower?

Well, I pulled the trigger and took the 7 yr/100k mile $0 deductible warranty extension for $1195. As it's transferrable to a new owner (if I decide to sell the car in let's say 5 years) I figure that's a significant selling point that helps increase the relative value of the car as well as the worth of this investment.

Any buyer of a 5 year old car with, let's say 60k miles which would normally be out of warranty will probably pay substantially more knowing that the car is fully covered by a $0 deductible waranty directly thru American Honda (AcuraCare) for the next two years or up until 100k miles.

Anyway, with the amount of electronic gizmos in this car, I feel better knowing I have this protection.

That is thru Acura care. I nearly bought the car from Bernardi Acura in Brighton, MA and actually offered me the warranty for $900 thru Acura care.

How do you tell whether a warranty is from Acura Care or not? With so many different sites, I'm just afraid that the Acura dealers will not honor my warranty when my car has a problem in a few years.

Call the vendor if you have questions about who it's through. The link I provided is the genuine Acura warranty which all dealers would honor.

how did you get this warranty from out of state. Lots of out-of-state Acura dealers say I must buy from a California dealer, who tend to be rip-off artists.

To those who have bought an AcuraCare extended warranty from Bernardi, did you have to call them after you submitted your application or did they call you? I spoke to Juliana before I submitted my application a few weeks ago, she told me we would complete the transaction by phone, but she never called back. Kind of strange????

Good heads up. I just sent her a completed application and she said she would call me for payment. I will follow up in a few hours if I don't hear from her. You should do the same....

What was the price you got her down to. She quoted me $1465 for an 8 year 100k mile./ Which I thought was too much for an extended warranty....

Mine wasn't near that much but my requirements/options are different.. I have an 07 TL-S with 49K. I'm getting it more for insurance against the electronics.

If I remembered correctly I got an e-mail after (not immediately after) I ordered it online. Honda has since made all the dealers to remove the online ordering option so I don't know how it's done now. It was effortless when I did it back then.

Yea, when it was online I think the price was $1100, they say the prices have gone up since then, but I think the prices are the same for the first 6000k miles of the life of the car.... I'm at almost 5k miles now, I plan on keeping the car till at least 100k miles, but I feel like the current warranty should be fine, plus the bulletproof Acura reliability. The only X factor is the electronics....
The current warranty.
  • All models enjoy a 4-year/50,000-mile16 limited warranty.
  • Acura powertrains are covered by a 6-year/70,000-mile16limited warranty.
So really I'd be paying to cover me for 4 more years for most things, and 2 years for the powertrain, I don't know if it's worth it then.

If you are paying $1100, if you choose not too would you have to put out $2200+ to actually lose?

I am at 1K right now and this seems to be stuck in my head. All my previous Honda's, all those extended warranties, and I did not win those bets.

Juliana at Bernardi offered me 5 yr/84K for $1,445, -0 deductible. My 07 has 29K on the mileage and one year left on factory warranty. The offer was a month ago, I sent the application in, she never called me back although she intimated that was what she would do.

Anybody know of Saccucci Honda? They offer Acura Care but don't email prices, rather they want you to call them.

Seems like I got ripped off

Just bought My AWD TL HPT last night; I think I got a good price, from 44, 125 to $38,500 with free maintenance like oil changes for 4 years or 48,000 miles. Reading at the prices you guys paid for the 8 years 100,000 warranty, I feel like I got ripped off. I paid $2315 with the so called Costco discount, otherwise it would have been $3900. Any one else, paid this amount? and what should I do?

Thanks,
