VSA indicator

All 2012 TL drivers with MT...have you ever tried driving with VSA off? Per the manual, it's on all the time but I wanted to see how it worked? To my surprise, there were no indicators that it was off. Anyone tried this? Seen the indicator light?

I know in my 2011 I have to press n hold till the light turns on the dash I would guess it's the same for the 12. When I was messing with it before just pressing it did not deactivate the vsa. Try press n hold and see if lights comes on

Yes, I have tried this... you have to press and hold the VSA button for a few seconds.... the wheels don't chirp under hard acceleration (straight line) when VSA is off (something I've noticed)...

As in when you mash the gas your tires dont squeal as much. But I love VSA off. Thats when you utilize MO POWER!

Seriously

LOL...

VSA...detects wheel spin and cuts off the power to the wheel(S)....for example if your in deep snow and your trying to come out of it, if you have your VSA OFF, the wheels will spin until 2K rpm when the computer cuts power to it....similarly if your trying to get off a line with max acceleration and you stomp on the gas pedal, the VSA detects wheel spin and cuts off the power/throttle.....

When you have the VSA OFF, it lets the wheel spin without interrupting it....so for getting out of snow, the wheels will keep spinning until you have the gas pedal pressed and similarly while getting of the line with max acceleration....

^ Yep, I meant tires when I wrote "wheels".... the tires don't "chirp/squeal" when VSA is turned off...

^This maybe one of those things that's different between the SH and base models.

As far as i know, even when you turn the VSA off the limited slip diff electronic mode (braking the single wheel that spins) is still active.....I think the VSA off shuts down the individual braking of the wheels for stability purposes during driving....
