Transmission p0722

On my way to work this morning my car felt like it downshifted and my speedo meter went to zero but everything else worked and check transmission came on along with check power steering. Code P0722 came up on my Navi screen and the D on panel started blinking.

About 2 minutes in the speedometer started to work again. When I got off the interstate, I pulled to the side and shut the car off then back on. Error code still there but the flashing D went away

I googled the code and it comes up as speed sensor error. Has anybody had this prob and now what the fix is? Would it be as easy as changing my speed sensor? Thanks in advance

Specifically, it's a "no signal" error. So it should just be a sensor replacement. Or maybe a wire got eaten by squirrels, but I'd start with replacing the sensor.

It's pretty easy to DIY, too, if you have jack stands and some good shop lights. (They seem to be down below.)

I changed out the sensor and I can tell that my car doesn’t shift like it used to, before it was super smooth and now it’s a little tiny kick. Also when in high gear seems like it switches into overdrive quickly even when speeding up for instance when getting on the freeway.

Im thinking maybe the sensor is linked with transmission update being that it’s a new sensor. I’m thinking I should go in and get a transmission update.

What are are your thoughts?

Try changing the transmission fluid if you haven’t already.

I did a 3x3 about a year ago, probably put about 15k miles since then. You think I should change it again?

Definitely! I bought my 2013 with 43k and once I hit 56k I felt rough shifts at 20mph in heavy traffic. I had my transmission drain and filled by Acura twice since I had an issue with the external filter. My car shifts butter smooth like it did when I first got it. There’s a TSB stating that the tranny fluid in these cars seem to burn earlier than expected.
