Traction Control System
Traction Control System
Hey,
anyone know if turning off the TCS (using the on/off button) will potentially increase power? I don’t mean increasing power over what the engine is rated for, just wondering if the TCS engages, does it reduce power to the wheels temporarily?

Ok...I was assuming it reduced power in return for traction (mostly in rain/snow) but in dry conditions it might only engage with WOT in 1st and (maybe) second gear with the car not having enough torque to spin the tires at all with SH-AWD. At least I can’t seem to get them to chirp at all, maybe I need to push the car harder from a dead stop with the TCS disengaged 🤔
I guess I probably don’t fully understand the difference between how the all-wheel drive functions and a separate traction control system lol 🤷🏻♂️

It makes sense they won't chirp as that really means sh-awd is doing it's job of distributing the power. I have managed to chirp and even kick out the rear end to drift a little. But that's only when the roads are wet and reving high in first from a stop. I also never turn the TC off unless I want to have fun in the snow. I definitely think turning TC off would help on this endeavor.
The only time I've seen the TC activate is in the snow. But maybe it also does things in the background without the light coming on.
