Touch up paint

Anyone use the white diamond pearl touchup paint? How does it blend with surrounding paint?

The bodyshop at the Buick dealer in my hood has a machine that mixes paints. He put the scanner on the wife's Honda, machine spit out $20 50cc of the right metallic paint, guy dipped a cloth into it and rubbed into the mirror housing scratch. The paint contains abrasives that polymerize to fill gaps with rubbing, so scratches and swirls are gone, housing looked like new. Needless to say the good woman puts a scratch a month into the car, but excels in other areas.

Of course i could not help notice the blackout job on a 7 series bimmer so i had them black out all the badges on my 2004 R32, and powdecoated the wheels. A good bodyshop is a Godsent IMHO, evety town has one, just ask around.

that sounds questionable....you cant just dip a cloth into some paint and rub it in....

by the description it sounds like a cleaner wax, designed to fill in scratches and swirls

I have and used Acura touch up paint on my WDP. It matches better on steel panels than the plastic bumper but it's decent on the plastic too. On the plastic bumper, you will need 3-4 coats with drying time in between because the under color is black. The WDP touch up paint doesn't cover well. On your first you would think it's watered down but a few coats and it blends in well.

^ agree, its very watery, and you need to do many coats to cover up, it will be ok for a quick job, don't expect anything spectacular

I've found that the WDP touch-up paint works better if you use a regular white paint as a "primer" and the TU as the top coat.

I used the touch up paint recently on my side mirrors, roof, hood, format metal pieces above the headlights and the front bumper. The paint matched well on all pieces except the hood and roof.
