TL 2009 AWD Tech Lease question

Hi,

I'm looking into leasing TL 2009 AWD Tech for 36 months

Currently got this offer

$495/mo with $1500 down for 36 months

Also
2009 Acura TL SH AWD
MSRP $39,265 Your Special Offer is $35,890!!

I want $0 down and under $500/mo for 36 months and 10,000 miles /yr is more than enough, any thoughts?

Please let me know your suggestions on bargaining this.

Thanks a lot!!!

Just got a TL Tech with 20,000 mi/yr, propack and full window tint - $2000 down $500/mo!! Of course I gave back my '05 so they kicked in a $1500 coupon which helped offset their insane high MF.
I drive it for business so I needed the mileage.
The '09 drives like a limo compared to my '05 over all these potholed roads here in NY/NJ! Maybe it's the 50 aspect ratio vs the 45's?

Holy crap! AWD Tech for $35K?! What are you waiting for man, grab it and run! Jesus, I remember back in '04, I bought my 3G Nav for around $34K.....now, the 4G AWD Tech is in the same price territory....unbelivable! The resale value on this car is going to be UGLY!

Are you sure it is an AWD Tech, the MSRP of that car is $42,995 NOT $39,265. And at least here in the south AWD Tech is rare and no way would be that cheap. I sense a type and it is either FWD Tech or AWD non-Tech.

Seems like a tough nut to crack for the AWD, but doable. If I adjust my numbers to what they are offering you, you at $495 for 10K miles and $1500 down you are about $20-$30 a month less than the deal I got. Also I am in the South and AWD is very rare here and I had to go out of state 250 miles to get my AWD Tech

sh.awd tech is 42,995 msrp + dest not 39,265 ... something seems crossed up in the op's #'s ?

granted i may be missing something.

my non tech awd was 36ish including some options and payment is $485 for 36mo 15k lease but paid for fees, taxes, first month, etc. out of pocket.

What's the range for 2009 TL w/ TECH + AWD for $0 36 months lease , payment = ~$500/mo? or is thjat very hard?

That would make the car around $36200. That's around $4000 under invoice.
I guess it's possible, if the dealership has a huge inventory. There is
a $2000 incentive for tech, so you gotta fight for that extra $2000.

I would ask for $500/month and break a deal between $530 and $550, with a max of $1850 out the door.

Hi

By max of $1850 out the door you mean DOWN PAYMENT? I would like $0 Down payment but I was told with $0 down there is still around $2000-$3000 TTL Fees involved for NYC et.c.. is this right range for the AWD TECH PKG or no?

If I can do $0 down and around $500 thjat be perfect but i'd still be paying $2000-$3000 for the taxes/fees involved ? Very confused

Thank you!

Here is what i got when trying to negotiate between two dealers:
I'll return my leased A4 and they will pay my remaining 3 payments.
I'll take an A6 with premium package (nav + ipod)
12K
36 Months
2600 out of pocket (all the fees, taxes, first month)
$480 a month

The above = for an AUDI A6, yet Acura TL with TECH/AWD = that much more :\ Unbelievable please shed some lighto n what range i should be looking for lease 36 months on AWD TECH ACURA

Thanks

Thumbs down Acura TL 2009 AWD/TECH Lease dilemma

Hi

I'm looking into leasing an ACURA 09 TL w/ AWD/TECH for 36months and $0 down in the NYC Area

The quote I've gotten were above a bit above $600/mo.

Please let me know your thoughts as I was also told the total cost for taxes/fees comes down to about $2k-$3k for this car.

Am I being lead in th wrong direction here? I was being pursuaded into buying a FWD or no TECH it seems a lot , maybe they dont want to let go of the AWD/TECH? :\

For $600/mo + with $0 down, i can easily get an AUDI/BMW/LEXUS and so I'm really wondering if this price is just plain wrong?

Thanks a lot!

sorry,

BUT I HATE, and I mean HATE when people say i could get X Y Z for that kind of money. Are you saying Acura is not up to par?
Are you aware the TL AWD Tech is a 40000$ car?
I had a customer who was looking a fully loaded Honda Accord V6 EXL Coupe. To lease price was roughly around upper 400 a month a believe. He stated I could get a "lexus" for that.....

Thanks Blazing for clearing that up and I do not mean Lexus/Audi/BMW > ACURA but just the fact that the comparable models have much better "LEASE" offers than acura as a friend just got an AUDI A4 with MSRP 44,000 for $500/mo 36 months 0 down.

As for my lease, is the $600/mo the norm for 36 months on AWD/TECH TL with $0 down?

Then when i asked about total to drive it out of the lot, i was told almsot $3000 counting all the taxes/fees/dmv involved, is this accurate for this CAR?? :\

Thanks again!

It depends on the state you are from. However, no matter what the car, Lexus, Acura, MB, BMW, the tax on a $40,000 Acura will be exactly the same as the tax on a $40,000 BMW. Same goes as far as DMV fee's. In California, tax and fee's usually accounts for 10% of the cars price. So if your in CA and your paying $40,000, your tax and fees should be equal to around $4,000.

Thanks, and this applies to even leased cars? I understand theres tax for monthly lease payment, but to lease a car, i have to pay upfront the whole amount of the 40,000 Tax? :\

Moving from Car Talk to 4G TL where you will get more targeted input.

$480/month for an 2009 Audi A6???

Sorry, that's just not possible. I'm afraid I smell BS here. With the new 3.0 supercharged engine that's about a $55k car. There's no way in hell that car leases for $480/month with only $2600 out of pocket. Maybe with a cap cost reduction of $6k at time of signing (and probably not even then), but someone is either confused or is throwing around a lot of BS if that's what they said they got offered. Ain't possible. Not even close!!!

As you wrestle with this dilema, please remember that the 4G TL is a direct competitor to the 5 series, A6 and E class yet sells/eases for about the same (or less) than their smaller bretheren (3 series, A4, C class).

Also remember that the German cars have always had much more aggressive leasse deals while the Japanese brands have always been a much better purchase value rather than lease deal. A year or two ago it was pretty much well known that M-B was actually subsidizing their leases just to maintain market share. Great for the leasing consumer but not so good for those foolish enough to consider the purchase of a M-B.

The Germans know that few people want to own their cars outside of the warranty period because of their well known poor relaibility and stratospheric repair costs, thus, they will only lease a BMW/Audi/M-B. People know of the legendary reliability of the Japanese brands (this particularly applies to Honda/Acura which routinely trumps EVERY other car manufacturer in relability) and willingly and happily consider them for purchases.

As purchases, Honda's/Toyota's/Lexus'/Acura's are great deals...as leases, not so much.

I think you read his post wrong. The car that is being offered for $35,890 is the AWD model without Tech, which is has a MSRP slightly above $39000. It's a decent deal, but nothing special these days.

Money Factor is .00237 . Residual is 56%
TTL is about $470. And you have to add first month to that.
I think $3000 under invoice is very reasonable for this car because there's $2000 dealer cash.
So let's work with MSRP of $43000 and selling price of $37000.
With $1000 down,

$2000 total drive off and $491 + tax / month

This is the price that you could possibly get in certain states, but
you should not pay more than

$2000 total drive off and $522 + tax / month

And if that A6 deal is real then why wouldnt anybody take that?

That is a very good deal if the 1500 is total drive off. Even if it is
just cap reduction, it is not a bad deal.

$1500 is down for the lease, not total drive off, as there is few %% for the TAX in NY State + DMV fees and maybe few other smaller fees :\

Smile TL/Tech lease

0/down; 1st month/bank fee/ DMV tags, etc./$1,500
$468/month/36 months/INCLUDING TAX, & Wheel locks!NYC

FYI: same dealer wanted $608/month/36 months for the SH-AWD/Tech
Couldn't justify $140/month extra for SH-AWD/Tech

people are crazy

Acura2009....

the dealer is NUTS if they think they can lease you the AWD TL TECH for $600/month. as nice as the car is... i get what u are saying... it's NOT a $600/month car.

The new quote you got is a little more reasonable. $460 isnt too bad. To put it into perspective:

I leased my 07 TL-S in NY for 36 month $399.00/month 12k miles with just taxes down and the other "fees" it was like i think at most $1500 or something like that out the door... That car had a sticker of $39000 or so... And that was b4 this economic mess we are in. The sticker on the NEW TL SHAWD TECH is like $42000... so I would say that $450-460 is a lot more reasonable considering what else is out there.

Keep in mind, last year, I got an 08 G35x Sport (sticker $42000+ fully loaded) for my spouse. That was a 24 month lease $410/ month 12k miles with just taxes down and the fees... out the door was like $1200 i think plus the 1st month

So, sorta comparing apples to apples.... the 2009 TL AWD Tech $42000 and the 2009 G35x Sport fully loaded $42000... At $600 a month, Acura is just plain ripping people off. The g35x leases a lot better... and I dont know about you... out here on LI... the g35x is a LOT more popular. I think I have seen a total of 4, yes, 4 2009 TLs out here... Prob because of the crap lease deals the dealers are pushing!

As an aside to those out there who hate when people compare cars to cars.... "i can get a _____ for that kind of money" Um, those people are right! Who in their right mind would pay $600 / month for an Acura when they could be in a better brand for the same price?? Unless you really LOVED the Acura... u'd be a dumbass to pay that premium for an OK car.

Dont get me wrong... I love Acura (This is my second TL.) But, if i could afford a 3 or 5-series? Hands down... I'd be all over it. And, not that I like Lexus, cause I dont (they are farty to me) but Toyota/Lexus quality is the same if not better than Acura....

Where am I going with this? I'll tell ya. Just talking leases... If you liked the TL AWD Tech and they quoted you $600/month and then you went to BMW and they quoted you $600 /month for a 3, and you also liked that car.... and then you went to Audi and they quoted you $600/month for an A6 and you liked that car too.... see where I'm going? You'd be retarded to pay the $600 for the TL It's a NICE car--- but NOT worth $600!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
