TL $1,500 loyalty or conquest cash extended
So Acura has extended the $1500 loyalty or conquest offer through the end of April. That is another $1500 off on already deeply discounted TLs. They are making it hard for me not to grab a 13 TL AWD Advance since I can get one for around $39,500.

Go for it. It will be close to two years before the you are ready for a 5G. Particularly if you're waiting for the 2nd model year run.

I was actually trying to plan to get a 5G AWD as soon as it is out, I did the same in 09 for the AWD, I got it as soon as it was out actually had to go out of state to get it. My hope is the 5G AWD will be out by next spring and then I just jump on that. I was impressed with 4G initial quality in year one (09) as my AWD TL was built liek a tank and flawless during the time I owned it.

wow...I'm really considering this.
I'm actually surprised that my current car (2010 TL shawd 6MT) is still worth in the low to mid $20K according to kbb and webuyanycar

Exactly. TL does seem to hold decent value and at such a discount I'm thinking in 18-24 months I can be out and in the 5G. While I love the styling and ride of my M37 the resale value sucks.

Looks like Acura is getting desperate to move out the aging 4G TL's.

Maybe, but we benefit from that. I was talking to my usual dealer over the weekend and the problem they have now is CPO TLs. the 09/10 beak scared people off that there are few leases expiring and they now have buyers as people warmed up to th edgy styling, but no cars to sell CPO.

You know I say a pre-mmc TL today and realized had Acura just got rid of some of then excessive chrome border and the top wrap over of chrome the edgines would have been more appealing, also their not offering a real silver hurt them too as it is one of the more popular colors.

What.....no pictures yet of the new TL from Keith?????

i heard from my sales rep that they will be phasing out the tsx, & tl's next year, & bring out a TSXL, OR A TLX. a cross between the tl, & tsx. also in the works is a 2 door TL. thats what he told me today when i picked up my car
#18
^^ That is interesting. I wonder how much is facts and how much is speculation from the dealership? I read somewhere that the TLX name has been registered to the TSXL seems unlikely, especially that it would fly in the face of their 3 letter naming convention. My money is on the TLX. Now if they come out with a coupe, that would be ABOUT TIME! On a final note, it makes sense to phase out the TSX.

Not yet, still on fence, not to mention the car is not due in for another 2 weeks.
I have a serious car itch right now, but trying to balance that with patience to see if I want to wait and get a 5G as soon as it comes out

There are numerous other threads on this forum speculating on what Acura intends to do. Honda is in the process of trademarking "Acura TLX" and all indications are that it has not been finalized yet. I bet mums the word at Acura until the trademark is granted.
As I've mentioned in another thread, I've heard from a reliable source that the TLX will be introduced as a 2015 model in early 2014, most likely March 2014. This makes sense to me, since it matches what they did with the 2012 TL (on sale March 2011) and the 2014 RLX (on sale March 2013). But, take it for what it's worth, since this didn't come directly from American Honda.

Three Wheelin'
^I had a feeling that would happen. As much crap as Acura has taken for the preMMC grill, it's an extreme bold and polarizing design that's likely to stand the test of time. I suspect 09-11 TLs will continue to hold excellent resale value, much to the chagrin of Cartalk/Internet naysayers. IMHO.

For the TL they really had no choice, they needed the MMC early to get sales back on track. Usually they would show the car this spring or early summer as a 14 model with on sale in September/October. It is a shame they need the TLX badly right now.

I wouldn't have a problem per se if they waited until next spring (2014) before they released it as a 2015 model. The one thing I can't handle is the "lack of information"...I am like KeithL...I have an itch like there is no tomorrow!! I could supress the itch if I saw a prototype of what the TLX will look like to see if it will be my cup of tea or whther I should start looking at something now (GS, IS or Q50). either way, I'll likely wait until next spring anyway, regardless, so pretty soon, I'll start driving my TL again and the love will resume but man, I can't understand how Acura can be so good at keeping everything so secretive. Explains why I am not working for them *lol*
KeithL...I feel for you...I know your lease is up and you need to find a way to bridge that gap. Hopefully, an acceptable solution can be found soon.

That was a curious option I had looked at, but the buy out on the M37 makes me sick as in 6 months it will be way more than I think I can get for the car then, but I am still considering that. Right now the trade-in for the M37 and the buyout are close enough that I will not be very upside down, also if I keep it another year I will need tires so that is about $1K on this car with 20" tires.

just got my car back, & the gm here confirmed that a coupe will be coming out sometime soon. and they will phase out the tl, & rsx to make a combo car. they claim that the new style tl's are a failure. hope that helps

we already knew that the Power Plenum style was a failure the second they debuted it...
but I will say that I'm starting to actually "like" the big ass chrome beak in the front of my car

09-11 tl
I agree with a former post that people are warming up to the new design (09-11) TL's. I really did not like them initially, but now find myself staring at them constantly. A friend picked up a 2011 CPO, Awd, Tech. He loves the car and can't believe how it handles. I'm looking, but can't find the right one. I have an 08 TLtype S with 80k on it, hopefully the dealer will give me $16 -17 K on a trade in.

I did a lot of reading before picking up my 2012 and the overwhelming response that I got online from reviewers and other forums was that the 09-11 TL was hideous. The 12-13 got a lot of praise from car reviewers as being a much nicer looking car but most of the forums still called the 12-13 ugly. I personally never liked the 09-11 and still don't but I think when it has the ronjon grill swapped in or has the grill painted it's a huge improvement.
Clearly Acura still has faith in the grill otherwise it wouldn't be on the new RDX and the new RLX but it is the more toned down version.
