Thinking about a new car
Thinking about a new car
I currently have a 2004 TL with Exhaust Intake and Throttle Body spacer it is an automatic and I really like the car, but I have had it 6 years and its got 130ish thousand miles. Well I have been looking at cars and keep coming back to the 2012 Acura TL, and also the Ford Taurus SHO.
If I bought a TL I think I would buy it slightly used just cause I am not big on buying a new car, but I think I would buy the SHO new because I get A-Plan and my brother in law works at Ford.
So my question has anyone had any experience coming from a 3G TL to a 4G TL how does it compare my local Acura dealer is over an hour away and I plan on going to test drive one soon, but just figured I would get some opinions. Also has anyone had any experience with that SHO? That is really the two cars I am looking at now.

My biggest problem with the SHO is that it is so big you can put most other cars in it's trunk. You damn near need a step ladder to wash the top....of the trunk!
And I'm not biased. I had a '97 Taurus that I bought new back then, and a 2003 SHO.

In my humble opinion about all you can compare between the 2 is AWD and raw power. Drive them both to figure out which suits you best, and come back to tell us all about your new TL
Don't worry, I would rather drive an Acura than a Ford myself but we have have different reasons for driving the vehicles we do.

Or buy a CPO FWD tech TL, save a bunch of dough and realize the AWD isn't worth the stiff suspension and the MPG hit when you don't ever use it except for on/off ramps...
Absolute power in an auto is misleading, driving the car will give you a feel for how well its powered... Barring the C300, and the IS250 I didn't find really anything on the market i tested being underpowered as a commuter...
