Stock sub replacement
Stock sub replacement
I replaced the stock sub with an Image Dynamics 8" dual voice coil (4 ohm each) wired in parallel. I hate drilling or cutting and avoid whenever possible. So, I used the plastic spacer from beneath the stock sub. It fit perfectly over the ID sub. Also, I bought Metra speaker adaptors so I could reuse the factory plug. Ultimately, I would want to be able to "revert" in the future.
The sound is just ok at low volumes and excellent at high volume (25+). I also replaced the front door speakers with ID. Will make a separate post on that.
I am a little concerned that the high RMS of the speakers is at an imbalance with the factory amp - that may just be in my head.
I have a good pic but do not see how to attach to this post.
