Steering wheel on 4G TL-Tech

Hi,
I am a relatively new owner (few weeks) of a 2013 TL SH-AWD Tech. I was told by Acura that the steering wheel is covered with Leather. But it sure does not feel like leather. When I compare to my retired '06 TSX or my '06 325 CiC the feel is completely different.

I guess I am asking so that I know what to treat the material with to get max feel and durability.

Thanks for any help.
Rich

^^ I have a 2012 Tech AWD and mine sure feels like leather....I realize there are different types of leather and maybe this one just feels different than the one you are used to.

I have seen some pics posted by users who must have scraped their steering wheels as they entered or exited their car. The scrape on the wheel sure looks like it is pleather (Leatherette). Just made me wonder.

Thanks for the input.

It's leather and yes I agree it feels "different" from what leather typically feels. I had an '09 SH-AWD and that steering wheel felt different from the '13. Maybe it just needs breaking into or a different made leather. But I know what you mean though. I never questioned if it was leather or not. It's a nice tight and thick feel that I can appreciate, no pun intended.
