Steering sticking
Steering sticking
My 2009 TL SH-AWD was developing a humming noise so I brought it to a local garage and they replace a driver side wheel bearing.
During the installation they broke the wheel speed sensor and after that the car developed the sticking in the steering when the wheel is turned to lock and especially in reverse.
Of course, a bunch of sensors picked up the issue. ABS, VSA, SH-AWD.
Once they installed the new wheel speed sensor, the VSA light remained on and the steering was still sticking, so I went back and they said the car needed a wheel alignment.
I had that done at Canadian Tire and the numbers weren’t too bad, the VSA remained on.
My neighbor, who is also a mechanic brought home a scan tool and we reset the VSA using the procedure in the tool and that got rid of the VSA light.
BTW, there are no codes for the steering rack.
I brought the car to my local Acura dealer to see if they could identify the issue. They replaced a drivers side lower joint (I guess in hopes that would fix the issue)
It didn't. The humming still remains and the steering still sticks.
Can anyone provide some insight as to what my issue is with my steering?

OP...
They did something incorrectly, which is causing your issue. AND they didn't fix the original issue
Seems like you need to get your money back and go somewhere more reputable.
What's crazy is that even your Acura dealer is just chucking parts at the car instead of diagnosing your issue.
No idea what you mean by steering sticking. A good shop needs to *diagnose* with some guarantee that the part they install will fix the problem.
