Hi all,
I've been looking around for an A-spec kit under spoiler and i have noticed something.
The rear under spoiler kit for 09-11 model looks a lot better than the one for 12-14 model ...what the hell is going on? I thought they would look better for the later model but I was wrong...
This is the kit for 09-11 model

and this is for 12-14 model


The kit for 09-11 model wraps around the rear bumper until the license plate location. Meanwhile, the 12-14 model just cut down right on top of the exhaust tips. What a let down.....

I wouldn't put either on I don't think. Not a fan personally.

I've heard people do a conversion if they have the 2012 model so they can run the 09-11 rear lip kit. I find it looks a lot better myself as well, however I do like the 2012+ front bumper/grill.

really? how difficult is it to modify the rear bumper of a 2012 to have the pre 2012 lip kit on the back put on? ... any links to threads where this has been discussed?

No modification needed.
My understanding is that a 09-11 rear bumper will fit a 12-14 TL and vice versa. However you will also need to replace that middle silver trim piece as well.

The rear kit doesn't look as bad on certain colours, I have a graphite luster metallic and it looks pretty good. It definitely looks the worst on white.

Try checking out the rear kit for the TLX... it's wayyy worse than anything the TL had.

If they're interchangeable, I will definitely do rear conversion to 09-11 model.

I haven't seen the kit for TLX yet but based on the feed backs in here, it seemed like the TLX didn't receive good review.

just to be clear on what andrew said because you probably read it wrong..

you CANT modify the 2012 bumper to make the 09-11 lip kit fit..

you have to change the bumper out to a 09-11 then put a 09-11 lip kit on..

^^ Yup. That's what I meant. I had a friend with a 2012 that wanted the 09-11 rear lip. We tried to see if it would fit with some cutting but the reflectors on the 12+ bumper is different, I believe they were too low so the lip kit covered half of it.

That's just too much work and end up with an extra rear bumper. I don't think it's worth it unless I can trade with some one for the 2011 model.

Don't forget 2011 has a different white than 2012

Hmm Interesting.. I've never paid attention to that..
Does the 2012 have the blue tint on white???

2009-2011 .Canadian A spec is very nice. 2012 is okay nothing great.

The way i see it WDP has a cream (beige) tint to it. Whereas the BWP is a whiter white if that makes sense. I think your description might be right.

Nexson and karkraze have a nice modified front grill (2009) that looks like a newer front. It makes it look great.
