Slotted rotors
I looked through Adams rotors and looked at the gold zinc but wouldn't that just get eaten away by the brake pad. I am looking at slotted rotors Adam's has a sport2 and a speed which have extra slots (will that actually help me stop sooner or is it all for looks). I imagine I want ceramic pads?
Autoanything looks like the best price for plain slotted rotors. This look like a good deal, or is it. There is code for 15% off at the top and there is free shipping which brings it down to near $330 delivered. StopTech Slotted Street Brake Kit - Stop Tech Brakes

Yes, the zinc coating is eaten by the pads, however, the coating remains everywhere else that the pad doesn't touch, causing your rotors to look newer for a longer period of time, rather than all rusty and nasty.
Slots are all for looks. More slots means less surface area for your pad to touch. The same amount of force is being applied by the brake pedal, over less surface area. The reason cars like M3s get away with having drilled rotors is because their rotors are MASSIVE and compensate for those holes while looking bad ass. If you are daily driving your car, slots will do nothing for you.
Adams Rotors makes a nice product, but I think they're super expensive. Let's be honest, rotors don't change the performance of a DD car in anyway. I went with Brakeperformance. Check out their website. Damn cheap and the product is damn good. I got the black coated rotors- all black, but where the pad rides it takes the coating off. Everything else remains black. I've had mine on for months now and They still look brand new even after driving through snow for the last month.

I think it depends on the brand, etc. I BELIEVE semi metallic offer more stopping power, but they also create more dust and potential for squeaks. Don't quote me on this. Honestly, brands will have different levels if ceramic and semi metallic pads. Just gotta do some research.

as posted in our FAQ's:
and regarding pads, have a look here regarding how the two offerings compare: pads
thanks for the interest and take advantage of our sale!

regarding expensiveness, thats hardly the case.
realize what we are and what you're getting...these are fully made-to-order, customizable rotors.
you get a choice of 13 patterns, 3 zinc finishes, and 5 hub coatings for a VERY competitive all-inclusive price that base, includes silver zinc and FREE shipping!
theres none like us, and you're not stuck with 1-3 patterned, off the shelf rotors like everyone else has.
"do the gold or black zinc rotors stay black forever?"
the colored zinc will only remain on the NON-pad contact areas for the life of the rotor. the face of the rotor will of course wear silver instantly upon the initial bedding process after install from friction, leaving a very subtle accent color (and more importantly corrosion protection) on the remainder of the rotor. (hub/hat, dimples, slots, vents, etc) this is the same for ANY zinc dipped, rust protected rotor, but with black/gold, has a very nice aesthetic touch behind a custom wheel/painted caliper.

not being like every one else comes with a price tho.
OP, with braking, there is always some sort of compromise.
there isnt a one pad/rotor fit all.
you're going to have to figure out what is more important to you.
Noise, dusting, or performance.
a performance pad will create lots of noise and dust.
a ceramic pad wont bite as hard initially, but will keep down on noise and dust.
figure out which route you want

^ couldn't have said it better myself...
this is mentioned on that pad page and a big reason why we only sell/support the 2 compounds we do.
remember these are daily drivers for the most part...not race cars.

Have you considered our XLR8 Acurazine Brake Packages? They offer plenty of performance, and are durable, all with a reasonable price.

R1 Concepts Online Shopping - Shop for OEM Rotors, Slotted Rotors, Cross Drilled Rotor, Cross Drilled And Slotted Rotors,Brake pads,Other items
Cross-drilled/slotted rotors and ceramic pads replaced the crappy OEM brakes on my 2006 TSX. Had it for 3 years now very satisfied with their products.

R1 Concepts has been providing my brake pads and rotors for my vehicles since 1997. I get great pricing, great product.
Not trying to knock anyone else mentioned here, because I have never used someone elses product to state otherwise. Merely commenting on what I have used and what works for me, across a wide range of vehicles.
Soon as its time to replace my stock TL pads, it too will get the R1Concepts treatment of the new Forged Series Rotors (recently announced), and Ceramic Pads (for no noise/dust).
