Simple Poll: 4G or 4.5G TL
Price is the same (for the purpose of this poll).
Which do you pick.
Doesn't matter if it's base or SH-AWD either.
Just aesthetics here.
What say you?

4G all the way....just saw the '12 tonight at the local car show up on the rotating stage and it made the '11 on the floor look like the newer and more exciting model. LOL
Even the Acura salesmen there all said they fukced this revision up a bit with going too sedate and they seemed concerned....it seems the best thing that could've happened to the '09-'11 sales was this '12 redesign which for many will be too boring ....poor Acura.

I don't expect 2012 buyers will be anymore happy listening to other Acura owners bash the looks of their car than the early 4G owners were when it debuted. You guys remember that? Got old in a hurry didn't it?
So, in that context, keep it civil and let the poll results show what they show.
Once the tit-for-tat bashing starts (if it does), the thread will get locked.

If price were no object I would pick the 4.5 simply for the 6-speed auto and advance package. I happen to like the 4g's looks better, though and bought one because price unforunately IS an object. I couldn't pass up the 6.5k discount.

It seems there are a lot of people that like the 4G over the 4.5G on here and even on the internet, but I just don't see it. I think the redesigned grill, darkened headlights, and new bumper are improvements. I disliked the old grill and hated the reflectors on the 4G and they addressed the issue.
I'm surprised how many people hated on the looks of the 4G at the beginning and it seems like suddenly, people are content with it, especially right when the 4.5G came out.

I feel the need...
The poll "price no object", so I don't have a strong opinion if Acura can't hold the line on pricing. A big reason I went with the TL was the value proposition.

Well,,,,,,
If price was no object, not a valid question... When you are talking Acura, TL, 2012, all options and $46K one may say it is No Longer a Great deal! One will begin to look at other cars like a MDX... Only reason I got a fully loaded 2010 TL SH-AWD-Tech was the $38K price tag.. That is what VALUE is all about...:t humbsup:

since they didn't change any sheetmetal, it should be plausible to buy one model (4, or 4.5) then exchange the bumpers. The only trouble there is that might have changed some mounting brackets or the paint choices may be drastically different.
btw the 0-60 estimate from acura is... conservative, hopefully.
i'd be pretty disappointed if they couldn't easily get the SHAWD to get a sub 6s 0-60. Yes yes i know wavehogger or w/e his name was got 5.44s, but he appeared to be the only one. Not to say he isn't credible, but all the car mags / websites got anywhere from 6-6.7, I believe them.

Almost dead even.
Have to say I'm surprised at this outcome. For Acura's sake I hope the general public is a bit more enthusiastic about the 4.5G.

Ugh, I hate the practice of using decimals to differentiate MMCs. They're all 4Gs.
That being said, I prefer the 2009-11 TL. I don't like the looks of either, but the pre-MMC's styling has had some time to marinate with the public, and at least looks original. The 4G can't do subtle, but the 2012 is trying. That's where it falls off, IMO.

IMO, even with the changes to ther front and back, the car is still not subtle or looking like other cars.. the roof-line, shape of the tail..etc still makes the car stand apart from the rest.

People either like the car in general or not. At this point I think the 5G is going to have to be a drastic redesign. I bet it won't be as big as it is now.
If that's the case, my wife is going to make me buy her a 5G.

I think size will remain the same (it's already a midsize sedan) if anything, they'll try to increase interior room, make it more comfortable for the rear-middle passenger, add more features (probably match the RL in price and features) and hopefully find a way to let the rear seats fold back.
Or they can just go to that "what is missing in your TL" thread we have somewhere n just go down the list lol

I was thinking the exact same thing. Not sure the 2012 redesign is going to be enough to boost sales of the 4G.

With the 5G Acura is really going to have to bring it! If for one thing they've split those who are loyal to the TL into 4G/4.5G factions. They have be clear with the direction of the next iteration of this model or it will go the way of the Honda Prelude.

The 03 (5G) Maxima was more appealing to my wife and I over the 04 (6G) Maxima because the size got so big that we did not like it.
Now with the latest Maxima 09 (7G) they have gone back it's Sparts Sedan roots and it's now sized between the 03 and the 04 Maxima designs. Big inprovement.
That's what I think they should or may do with the 5G TL.
If it was sized between the 3G and 4G size, I think it would be a winner along with a distictive design.

I was thinking of the direction Nissan took with the latest Maxima. Which I also looked at when I was shopping for new car.
