Should I get this? 2010 TL Base with Technology Package

Probably needs the timing belt, water pump, and oil pump reseal done. Plus it has that nice little gash in the rear bumper.

CarFax says it was repossessed.

So is this thing worth 10K? The main reason I am interested is because it's very close to me.

Depending on several factors for your circumstance, I would suggest you hunt thoroughly. Do you need a car right now? Are you willing to travel to purchase a car?

As someone who has had a total of three 4G TL SH-AWD's, I would urge you to consider a SH-AWD model over a FWD model. Even if you don't need AWD, the handling aspect is so spectacular.

What do you value?

From what I've experienced, I would not personally value a FWD model at ~$10,000.

All-wheel drive is relevant for Ohio, but not for Arizona. Please note that the FWD engine is very reliable, so it doesn’t cost anything. There is no need to service the transfer case, differential and propeller shaft.

I would 2nd that, when shopping for a TLX couple years ago, there were several awds out there for a couple grand over the fwd model. I opted to go fwd based on our mild winters, slightly improved fuel economy, weight savings and reduced drivetrain components.

To the OP, the 2012+ has the 6AT vs the 5AT, just something to consider.

looks solid for 10K...I would give it a look. AWD would be better...but you have to get what is available.

Thanks for your replies. I've kind of shied away from SH-AWD Models for a few reasons, didn't think I needed it, more complex, burns more fuel, 3.7 engine burns oil, etc. Just looking for a decent daily driver, which is what my '08 has been.

Yeah I know. The 09-11 beak and shield design has kind of grown on me though.

SH-AWD models may be heavier, more complex, and the 3.7 potentially has some "issues," but hot damn it puts a huge smile on my face every time I step on it mid-corner, watch the AWD power distribution go to the rear outside and the car just grips and rips. Well worth the price of admission in my opinion.

SH-AWD still feels like magic to me. Combining that with the 6MT creates a really special car.

Im not a fan of the 3.5, the sh is so much better, plus if youre needing a timing belt that alone is a pain in the ass. labor is like 1k , just had mine done

This job takes 3 hours of labor, does that mean they charged you over $300 an hour? Is this normal for Colorado?

I ended up getting it. It's nice, the interior definitely is a step up to me. I think I will like it even more than my '08 base.
