If a car with a turbo 4 performs a bit better than one with a N/A 6 most people will just take the additional fuel economy as a nice extra.
All the major premium manufactures are putting 4's into their base lineups to pad the café numbers so they can keep selling the 500+ performance & luxo versions.
If a brand does not have a performance line or lines it needs to cover for café I expect N/A V6 will be something they can hang onto.

If you live in CA. you might want to try the Shift S3ctor 1/2 mile airport runs on the 5th/6th of October & see how that stomping works out for you

I have driven two X1's as service loaners & against non performance car lines there is no way to tell how many cylinders are moving you along. I would expect that people actually buying them could care less what is under the hood.

I'll admit I can't talk from experience on the new 3 series because I haven't driven one, but when I've been next to one running it sounds like a 4cyl. I'm sure you can't hear that noise inside the car, but roll the window down and apply some gas and it's no mistaking what's under that hood.
I'm curious to see the long term reliability of that powerplant...

Going to the turbo was IMHO a very smart move on their part.

Really? you think a 3 series purchaser doesn't care what's under the hood? I would have to disagree with that especially for a car that's supposed to be the go-to model for performance luxury sedan buyers. I would suspect almost all sportline buyers are very interested in what's under the hood.

They should be reliable, BMW has been making 4cyl engines for as long as its been a car company. If the 328 buyer get a hunger for a bit more performance, which is roughly equal to the TL, there is always the aftermarket to push it up to 335is territory for $500 or so.

Because generally it looks to be a fun day with a lot of pretty exotic cars running at WOT. If one is held within 200 miles of Raleigh I would sign up just to see what the cars will do in a 1/2 mile & watch the fast cars go.

Good job teaching that ahole a lesson jacob.
I've never had anyone try to race me in my TL but for some reason cars always want to race when I'm on my gixxer. Just a few weeks ago I embarrassed some doof in a subaru sti who thought he had a chance.
