Seeking 4G Feedback before Purchase

Coming from driving Toyota Avalons for the last 15 years.....and now in the market for a new-used car. Came across a remarkable deal on a 2010 TL....and I'm looking for any feedback before making the purchase, especially about the 2010 model within the 4th generation. It's the FWD with the technology package. Feedback please........

My father has a 2009 Avalon XLS, which has been super reliable to him and he is very happy with it. I much prefer the interior on my 4G TL, styling and overall appearance is much more modern than the Avalon IMO. The backseat in the Avalon is massive (noticably bigger than the TL) and the rear seats do recline though, which I love and miss having in the TL. I have the 3.7 SH-AWD so cant comment on the FWD, but my TL is definitely more powerful than the Avalon.

Overall I prefer my TL over the Avalon, and I think you will, too.

I just brought a 2010 tl with the tech package. Love it and have no regrets with the purchase.

We have the FWD version like you are asking about, also a 2010.
It is a very very good car with plenty of power, wonderful on the highway. Not perfect, but nothing is.
The suspension is a bit harsh but we have had no problems. My only complaint is that we have the roof rattle which was recognized by a TSB.
Many of the "problems" you will hear about affected the 3.7L AWD cars or the 2012 models.
Do your due diligence, don't pay too much, and do a long thorough road test.
I would recommend the car.

The 4G TL, in any variation is a great car. However, be aware that like many cars they have an airbag inflator issue. The driver side airbag inflator should be hopefully fixed on the car your looking at (VERIFY) however there is still the passenger side airbag inflators and possibly the side airbags that still have the issue. Read the Takata airbag thread for more detail. I love my TL, but would not buy another for this reason.

AS you must know, the air bag inflator issue affects many brands. Many, not just Honda/Acura.

I have had a 2010 TL AWD and 2013 TL FWD, the latter is almost exactly like your potential purchase. No problems so far. The ride and handling are sportier than an Avalon, which I prefer. Excellent sound system on the Tech.

I'm aware. Which is why I mentioned it. Personally I would not buy a car I know has a known issue like this, but some people care less than I do.
Not all cars from all manufacturers are affected and IMO its a serious issue that has yet to be fully addressed.
