Are you taking a major hit on it? Have you accepted the check yet? If not, I would always try arguing for more. My insurance company ended up paying me out an additional 3k when my Accord was written off, simply because I asked.

 

No that was the final repair estimate. Im anticipating an $18-19k settlement check for ACV. Car was mint

did you buy your car on payments? now that it's totalled, would you still owe the bank? i'm trying to seee what would happen if my own 2012 were to be totaled...

 

Financed, but because of the deal I made, I'm actually getting money back because of resale value. Its all about maintenance and low miles. And i financed with $0 down

 

hows that?? I have GAP insurance in case something happens they cover the cost.... is that what you have?

 

He probably got a pretty good deal when he purchased the car and because he kept all his maintenance records they probably valued the car a bit higher than how much his car loan was.

 

exactly VandyDotk....Selling price was 17999, and my out the door was 18600 on the car. It was an original lease and owner bought out the lease so everything was maintenance at Phil Smith Acura. So after only 3 payments I still made out because my value came back at 19390 lol. Plus I did have gap but because the check covers the entire note I will also be refunded 95% of my GAP premium in addition to the little bit of money made on the settlement offer....AND i have the SH-AWD wheels which I eventually sell via craigslist or Black Market here.
