Roof Spoiler doesn't match--would you accept it?

2013 TL, BWP code:NH788P

debating whether to keep or return it? It's not really
noticable from 3/4 feet out. What would you guys do?

Purchased from the dealership (probably, with that code#)? Or aftermarket?
If it's from the dealership... I'd return that sucker. Very noticeable.

Would it piss you off every time you walk past your car? If so I wouldn't accept it. It really dosen't look like it matches to me on the 2nd and 4th picures. I got mine from ebay, seller named bmwoemshop as other members have recommended and mine is pretty spot on. Is that who u bought it from? Maybe its just hard to match that color? i have polished metal metallic

Aftermarket, really disappointed about it as it's My first mod....leaning towards a return. Others have said the white doesn't match 100% so not sure if you can get a 100% match for a reasonable price.

Yeah it will...ok it's going back.

I went with another seller carbon.t, his reviews were all good and he assured me he could match the paint colour. I'll try bmwoemshop next I guess. thank you

I don't know about other colors, but I have a white 2014 TL and the factory spoiler and several other factory pieces do not match the body very well. I was pretty surprised (and disappointed) at how different they looked.

I know you said your TL is BWP, but from the pic it looks like your TL is WDP and the spoiler was painted BWP.. I have a 2011 in WDP and bought the roof spoiler 4 years ago, and while it was slightly off from the roof color it wasn't as bad as yours seems to be in the pics. It has changed color slightly over the last 4 yrs but isn't too bad.

BTW-I bought mine from bmwoemshop.

I stared at the grill (shield) of my 2009 TL for 3 years until I got Ron Jon Grill. The rotors are rusty and I painted them. If you notice it long enough, it will drive you crazy, like the scratches & dents in your car.

I didn't know you could get 2013's in WDP, thought they swapped over to BWP in 2012? Wouldn't the paint code be different if it was WDP? that would be embarrassing...lol

Sorry I should have been clearer, yes WDP wasn't available for 2013 and I know your car is BWP.

What I was trying to say is that from the pic, the spoiler is a brighter white than your car, so IMO it makes it SEEM that your car is WDP ( even though it's not) and the spoiler was painted BWP due to the contrast in colors. I hope this explains it better.

It'll never be 100% with white so I'd keep it. I don't know if you have the lip kit but that'll be the same issue. You'll just have to deal with it. Hopefully over time the sun's rays will blend it in a little better. lol

I just ordered the lip kit from the dealer....i hope its not as bad...

I was thinking of leaving the roof spoiler out in the sun a month or so and see if it yellows a bit, especially since the the seller hasn't bothered to respond to my email yet.

From viewing other AZ posts, white is one of the toughest colors to perfectly match after awhile. You will not regret the lip kit.

I got mine from bmwoemshop as well. Spot on but I'm CBP. When it comes to white the thing to remember is the same color or plastic isn't the same on metal. That's how my wife's 2016 RDX is. WDP but the bumpers are slightly off.

That would bother me as well. I'm sure, you'll forget about it eventually and nice pick up on the oem lip kit. Won't regret that.

The white paint color on plastic and the white paint color on metal will never match exactly, even for OEM.

cbp will always match because there is no shade of black.. only pearls inside cbp.. ive gotten parts painted from 3 different shops on my TL and you literally cant tell the difference. but anything white.. is never the same shade unless the car was painted by the same painter and all are painted on the same material
