Replacing Windshield Wipers - 2012 TL

I'm going to need to replace my wipers soon and currently have OEM. Any advice on wipers that work well?

Also, any recommendations on a good website to get them?

Thanks!

I purchased Silblade wipers over 5 years ago. They are still working as if they are new! I will never buy another brand as long as I'm breathing! Amazon.com

My Accord I could buy just the wiper insert strips super cheap ($3-4 each I think) and bam, new wipers again. I've not looked into the TL if we can buy just the replacement rubber blades or do we have to replace the entire wiper assembly?

I just replace the rubber inserts for about $5 or $6 each. I change them every 6-9 months or so. Can get them from honda or acura as long as you get the correct length.

PIAA super silicone wipers. There really is no comparison. They laugh at rain and never streak. I had ONE pair of them on my old RDX for over 5 years. They are expensive but are truly the definition of "set it and forget it". it may be the only pair of wipers you have for the lifetime of your car.

I've personally had good luck with Bosch Icon blades, RainX Latitude, and have heard excellent things about the Valeo blades.

I am using OEM blades. They work great. Get them online for cheaper prices.

+1 I have PIAA Super silicone wipers as well. Had them on my Altima for 3 years without having to replace any blades. Works well when you treat your windshield with the included packet or a rain-x spray.

You can use the factory assembly from the 2010-2013 accord without any issue. the frame + rubber is $40 on ebay and you can just replace the rubber in the future with a $3-4 dollar strip from the honda dealer.

This way you get the newer wipers that press evenly, clean well and are OEM honda parts! I use Rain-X bug spray that applies rain-x so it helps immensely.

Some members use the wiper arms from the MDX.

The MDX wiper arms are aerodynamically shaped and may help pressing down the wiper blades when traveling at speed.

Also, the MDX wiper arms are not perforated like the OEM TL ones, and won't collect snow/ice and frozen up in the winters.

I also need to replace mine soon and I like the idea of getting some of the updated style OEM ones that have the replaceable inserts. As far as I can tell from searching and reading some of the past threads, options for OEM Honda/Acura blades of this style that will fit the TL are:

ZDX
08+ Accord
10+ Crosstour

However, there are all kinds of different part numbers for each of these options depending on the model & year.

Anyone know the best model & year to go with when talking to a local dealer about getting a set of blades?

The accord and the cross-tour probably use the same exact blades. I know the accord is the same exact length and fits perfectly. Plus the parts are always cheaper for honda vs acura.

I also use PIAA super silicone wipers. I will not use different wipers ever again. Simply the best wipers out there you can get.

You can spend $50 once on the Honda OEM ones which are the exact same + $8 for refills.

or

spend $32 once on the icons, then another $40 at full retail in 6months to 1 year...

Long term- honda OEM wins hands down.
