Is this recall old or new???

So I went into the delarship today to get my car repaired for a 3 things...

1)rear license plate light wouldn't work.
2)contstant whining and squelling noise.
3)blown speaker.

After 2 hours I get a phone Call saying...."your car is ready to be picked up"...the problems fixed were

1) rear license plate light harness not connected.
2)ordered a new propeller shaft - making an appointment next week
3)ordered a new speaker. Will also be in next week.
4)A TORQUE CONVERTER RECALL FIX WAS DONE ON THE CAR. SPECIFICALLY A SOFTWARE UPGRADE.

hmm that's funny I didn't realize there was a recall for this. Is anyone else aware of this???

I had my 2010 TL SH AWD in for service a couple of weeks ago and they told me there was a software update that they would do while it was in. My service record says, "PCM update for lock-up clutch function" with a long series of numbers and letters. Not sure if this is the same thing. Mine is an automatic transmission in the US.

Yes my sheet says the same also but also mentions vibrations, and it also says recall on my servvice sheet.

About time. Hopefully this will fix the lugging at 1400 rpm's and cut down the number of TC replacements. My one complaint with the TL.

No, an MT does not have a torque converter.

Search for "low growl" on the board and you'll find a thread that tells you all you need to know.

No mention of it on the "MyAcura" website. I will check with my Dealer Service Mgr.

The TC issue has been a common one for 4th gen auto trans owners. Search the forums. There are several threads. There has just recently (within the past month) been a service bulletin issued.

Do you all think this will apply to 2012 and 2013 models since there is a new six speed AT in those models? Thx

Low freq vibration at these RPMs, feels like the engine is struggling by being at one gear too high for the speed. Does not occur in S mode. TC replacement has helped several forum members, although it does not always eliminate the problem.

DYPKNY which dealer did you go to? I've been complaining about that whistling noise for the longest and haven't been able to get it taken care of.

It's not a whistling noise. It is a growl. Very different.

The whistling noise you speak is a common problem with the SH-AWD model and can be fixed under warranty with a new "propeller shaft" - an easy drivetrain fix that takes less than an hour to replace. There are other threads here on that.

My dealer replaced the propeller shaft without even hearing it and the whistling was gone. They were well well aware of the issue and ordered the part pronto.

I went to DCH Acura in poughkeepsie ny....I had also went to other dealers specifically in manhattan and they did not hear the noise at all, maybe becuase of all the traffic around and outside noise.

Nxtassy where in NY did you get yours serviced for the prop shaft? I'm sick of dealers not wanting to do warranty work and wasting my time.

It was DCH Heart Acura - Wappingers Falls. I bought my TL from them and service has always been easy to deal with.

What model years does this apply to? All 4G? I have a 2012 TL SH-AWD Advance. Have heard the growl...Had it on my '09, too, but the dealer consistently told me it was normal/they didn't hear anything. So, I just kind of started ignoring it when I heard it again on the new car.

I see it says 5AT which tells me it's only for the TL's with the 5 speed transmissions which are the 2009-2011. I was hoping it would help the vibration I have at 80mph but since mine is a 6AT it probably doesn't apply.
