Quick Vent :(

I knew someone had monkeyed with the rear speaker deck on my '13 because it was slightly popped up (like a misplaced clip) and some finger smudges on the side panels but found something far more depressing tonight when I popped everything off.

The car at some point had its rear window shattered and replaced - you wouldn't guess it because it's OEM Acura glass, but I found shards all along the bottom cushion area and the window weld (black goop) is really sloppy around the window.

I was able to install the rear deck correctly and also found out the rear seats weren't correctly popped into place either - so that was good.

I did break both clips on the bottom seat (I thought you just pulled up?) - I didn't pull those little clips outwards first and then up. I also broke two clips on one of the side panels, so I'm going to buy replacements for all these.

Sorry to hear.

A quick search would have prevented you from breaking the clips
I always read up what to do before I actually tackle the job.

Yep, I even had the thread up when I did it!

the car is at my cousin's shop, me and his mechanic were trying to figure it out.

Bottom of seat just pops up, pull upwards. and it released in 20 seconds.

The seat back was another story, it wouldn't budge, so we removed some lining in trunk to see if there was anything holding it, nothing.

There are 2 bolts holding it down in the corners of the seat, that are fairly obvious to remove. Now the seat itself is easy in theory to take out, but was a bitch in reality.p
It does pop up :P it pops up and breaks the clips!

Haha, appreciate it guitarplayer16!

I found the clips on Bernardi's site, they're pretty cheap:

#9 82137-TK4-003 - CLIP, RR. SEAT CUSHION - Bernardi Parts

Then I busted one of each of these -

91560-SLJ-J01 - CLIP, DOOR LINING (LIGHT GRAY) - Bernardi Parts
91561-TA5-A11 - CLIP, RR. PILLAR GARNISH - Bernardi Parts

Sucks dude... at least you found out and can get those parts fairly easily.

I still have my custom built Koni coil overs from my accord and will be test fitting it in a few weeks so I am going to need to be able to get to the top of the rear suspension. good to know about the seats

Yep yep! It's all good Schu, I'm going to yell at Carmax about it and hopefully re-coup some money from it.

I just bought all the clips which will be here tomorrow for $15 at the local dealership - just irritated I had to do it to begin with.

The only thing I'm going to play with today probably is the base of the seat belts are scratched where I assume they scraped the top half of the seat on. I'm going to see if I can use a heat gun to fix them back up.

Well, just as an update, got the clips in today and was able to re-install everything as best as I could. The rear seat clips (bottom cushion) were absolutely insane to take out for some reason.

Yep, I *think* maybe the driver's side isn't completely hooked into place, but I can't wiggle it at all. I think it's just my eyes playing tricks on me in the rear view mirror.

Was able to clip everything else back into place and I'm happy to report the rear deck is flush all around and not touching the glass any more.

I did reuse one of the metal clips on the rear quarter panels (supposedly one time use?) but it seems to be secure.

Bottom seat cushion clipped right in and I now have a nice ziploc full of glass.

Yeah, I've learned to take everything you read on forums with a grain of salt and try to have a second source to back it up. A lot of times people post what they think as fact without actually knowing if it's correct.

Glad you were able to take care of it. One of my rear seat clips broke in half last time I took it out, though it still holds the seat securely. I'm hoping I don't have to take it out again anytime soon. Getting the seat back in with one person is a bitch! I put a nice mark on my door last time I did it.

Yep! I had a hell of a time getting the back out to get the two rear quarter panel pieces in. Didn't help it was like 20 degrees outside!

Just a tip for next time, if there is one, pull up one side of the seat first then the other...rather than going at it from the middle. I saw that recommendation on AZ at one point and it definitely makes it easier.

No easier method than following the scan instructions I posted.

When you push down on the cushion (where the manual tells you to), if lifts up the front of the cushion (think of it as a lever) with plenty of room to fit your two fingers in to pull the release.

Takes me less than 15 minutes to remove my rear seats, by myself.
