I spring cleaned the TL yesterday (easter) as it was about 65 degrees here in minnesota. When i was cleaning the trunk, i noticed tiny rust spots on the trunk. I also had a rock chip on my front fender and its starting to rust a little. My question is what is the warranty for paint against rust? Thanks fro the responses!

 

no. unless its a factory defect from the start.


if it was a chip/scratch that was caused by you then it is not covered.

its called ware and tare lol..

 

the rust spots on the trunk probably aren't chips and might come off with a clay bar.

 

I'm not to sure but, I remember when I bought the car that they tried to sell me a xzilon warranty package. Stealership said if I encountered and dings or dents, or if I had a scratch smaller than 3 in. they would repair at no cost to me. You should go to the stealership and see if they could do anything for you. You shouldn't have any rust spots especially if nothing hit your car like in the trunk area. Good luck.

They are like the head of a pin right? Just use some bug & tar remover and they will come off.
