Paddle Shifters
Paddle Shifters
Ok I have decided I do not like the paddle shifters. And no I could not get the 6MT because it's my wifes car and she can't drive stick.
They should have made it via the shifter IMO. Maybe I am too old school, but I just can't get used to it.
Anyone else have the same thoughts/opinions on the subject?

have you tried to use them in D (drive) instead of S?
w/ my SH-AWD I sometimes downshift 2 gears as I accelerate thru a sharp turn
then when you done w/ your fun you can just upshift back to 5th
for me this is much more useful than using the paddles in S

I've liked them, but hate that they decided to put them on the steering wheel, not on the steeting column. As accelerating turning a corner, they are always somewhere other than where I'd expect them. If you've driven a G37, you know how nice it is to have them on the column -- You always know where they are!
I love that I can put it in 4th (sometimes 3rd) on the freeway and floor it when needed without it shifting into second -- and still get the power I need.
Car is so smooth/quiet that I'll slow below 40 due to traffic and it'll be miles later I remember to shift back into 5th!
