Outside weather temperature sensor

I had to disconnect the outside weather temperature sensor because I had to take off my front bumper. It shows -40 degrees now. How long does it take to reclalibrate to the correct outside weather temperature? Thanks in advance.

I recall reading in the manual that there is a way you can calibrate the o/s temp sensor if it's not reading accurately. Since mine seemed OK I didn't pay much attention, but it's in there somewhere.

You can calibrate it by a few degrees through the steering wheel controls, if it's at -40 my guess is it's not connected.

Thanks. It is connected now since I put my bumper back on. It showed -40 while being connected. If it wasnt connected it would not show anything on the dash at all. It ended up recalibrating took about 30 mins though.

Weather display showing ----F

Hello

Is there a way to test and fix this issue? I bought an old 2009 acura TL base model. I am not seeing the outside temperature at all. When I start I see -40 for few seconds and then nothing

You have to perform a procedure to drain all power disconnect neg and pos from the battery and then touch the neg and pos cables together for about a min to discharge all power then reconnect the battery
Hope it works
