Read the caption, then listen to the guy reviewing the 4G...

Tell me what is wrong.

why couldn't they make the 3g tl's shifter boot like that of the 4g.. imo the 3g auto shifter is ugly as f*ck.

Easy mistake to make. 1G TLs are pretty effing rare. Still, even the tiniest bit of research would've shown this was the 4G. Kinda sad.

i like how he pointed out that the person sitting in the rear middle doesn't get much room. Most reviews just say "comfortable rear seating area" lol

I get questioned sometimes by people if my 1G is a Legend or Vigor. When I tell them its a TL, they go like "A Whaaaaa...." .

I recall the 1G TL an ex-girlfriend of mine had one. It was rather plain and stuffy compared to the Legend, especially the Legend coupe...damn they were hot. I have another ex who has an all white one, nice.
The review had some miscues, but it was decent. He actually seemed to like the car.

3g has the "sequential" shifter on the actual shifter, the 4g doenst have that anymore, it's on the steering wheel (which i hate, but that's a diff issue)

i dont think i've ever seen a sequential shifter with a boot...

That's because the Legend was Acura's halo car of the time. The Legend became the RL, and the Vigor became the TL. Frankly, a lot of cars were plain and stuffy compared to the Legend. That car was the definition of "ahead of its time".

Indeed! I had a friend that got a early-mid 90's Legend coupe. (I forgot the specific year(s)) But DAM that car was SEX.

I don't think acura can or will ever make anything as timeless as that car was.

Here's hoping for a nice 2 door acura coupe soon!

Since we are talking about Legends

Here's a picture of me in 1992 looking pimp with green pants in front of my dad's brand new Acura Legend

Get yer dang greasy hands off that paint!...

Cool pic, nice to see it runs in the family.
Well, I'm just glad I have a 2G TL...otherwise, things would get confusing!

My previous car was a '92 Legend Coupe 5MT. Bought it just when the 93s were about to come out. List was 34K or so, I paid about 27.5K. (See pics in my Garage<<<).

The '92 Legend was so far ahead of its time it was ridiculous. Dual airbags, individual coil direct ignition, ABS, pretensioning seatbelts, etc.

And the styling was timeless. To the day I sold my car, I always received unsolicited compliments on it. Rock-solid reliability too.

All that said (and I did love my Legend), my TL would blow it away in every performance, comfort and technology category. I'd give the Legend the nod in styling, but I really like the looks of my TL too.

I missed on getting the Legend...I wanted the coupe so badly. I recall reading the Newsweek article on Honda/Acura making some not so sound moves on discontinuing using names and going with numerics like the Germans. They stated that the Legend name was actually more recognizable than the Acura name. Folks were saying I want or drive a Legend versus saying I want or drive an Acura. The article also mentioned them nixing the Prelude.

I gathered that sales were slow on the Prelude, but I think they could of stuck with it, look at how they handled the RL. As far as the Legend, IMO they could of kept the names...
