no digital speedometer?

It seems that the center display can show you tire pressures, individual power going to each of the four wheels, external temperature, gas mileage, etc. etc.

Am I being stupid - or is a simple digital mph reading missing?

I've had a few cars with MID-like displays. None had a digital speedo.

I don't mind though, I don't like 'em. I defineltly prefer analog look guages (and watches).

Not being stupid at all, initially I thought it would kind of cool to see that as well in the little MID window, but I'm glad they didn't do that for the entire read out. I don't like when people next to me can read my speed, especially cops.

It would be nice if Acura offered a HUD (Heads-Up display) for the TL.....I had one in my previous BMW 545i and it was sweet to see your speed without taking your eyes off the road (BMW's version also gave NAV readouts in the HUD as well.....very cool).

Before I had it on our S2000s (we had 4), I didn't think it was anything I needed. However, after living with it for 8 years, I wouldn't mind having it again. I got very used to knowing EXACTLY what my speed was.

I don't have the car, so I'm just curious.

Center Display... are you talking about the NAV/INFO screen?

Or the MID in the center gauge?

Honestly, I don't see the need for a digital speedo display in the NAV screen, cause a speedo is for the driver, not for everyone else.

A HUD would be awesome though. The CTS has it and it's a great feature. Mostly a carryover from the Corvette that had it since the 90s. I remember that my best friend's 240SX has a HUD too, and that's a mid 90s car as well.

I was talking about the MID (in between the tach & analog speedo), but I didn't know it was called an MID. Just picked up the car yesterday - still reading through the enormous manual.

There is definitely a learning curve with our cars! It's fun and gives me something to read in the bathroom.

I recall seeing a few years ago that people perfer analog speed displays, as it gives people a better sense of speed. I personally prefer the analog display.
