It's a lot better. I will seriously consider this car as a replacement for my 04' TL.
Having seen the 09-11 TL's in the showroom I have softened my initial criticism to only- "God I hate that grill". I even considered getting a 2010 TL, and swapping in a mesh grill- but this redesign sort of takes care of that for me.
I'm relieved.

if you guys check out the acura website, which now has more pics of the 2012 tl, one thing that is dissapointing about the redesign IMO is the fact that the SHAWD seems to no longer have the quad tips ... i thought that looked great on the unfacelifted 4th gen

I would. Trade my 2G for it, I mean.
I've driven the 4G base model as a loaner (and own a 3G) and there is NO doubt that the 4G is much better car overall than the 2G. MUCH better.

So they basically stole the grill design from 2nd Gen TSX and I must say the car looks pretty impressive I like it...it also mentioned in the article `and you get a faster USB port` does it mean it got USB 3.0 ??

After looking at it more, I still feel they've neutered the car. It just looks so plain. I definitely prefer the small hang overs and like parts of the rear end better. I wish they kept the quad tail pipes for the shawd.
Why or why couldn't they just have done this???

Aside from the quad exhaust which i thought was so gorgeous on the 3G s & 4G shawd, i think this version is just fine guys. True, not as aggressive as the previous 4G but it does seem electrifying. If you see it on your tail or next to you, you will take a 2nd & 3rd look. Nothing to do with the girly 3 series that see to have taken the planet over.
sorry how do you go back and omit 'girly' from above sentence..

I just might swap out the headlight assemblies with the MY 2012...

Mademoiselle Chanel!!
It feels muted to me. Two guys in my building are going to wait and get the 2012's, they like the idea of the increased MPG, larger HD, Blind spot system, and vented seats....but they said it looks dulled down a bit.

I like the new look, especially the front. More traditional aggressive look. The rear looks weird still though. They should smooth that point out. I would certainly get one but I love my '08 way too much.

I couldn't agree more. I like the reduced size of the 2012 grill but I think they shrunk it too much. I still think the 2012 grill is better than the one it's replacing, however, I liked the way the headlights met the grill. I wish they would have retained that design feature.

Anybody noticed that the headlights are blacked out by default? Check out the cool video on the changes in design!

I actually like what they've done here. I would consider it as a choice in new car if I was looking for one (my 06 TL works fine for now). If I got a pre-2012 car, I would still get the RJ grille. I think that looked very good.

Realistically since there were no sheetmetal changes, we (current owners) could change the front and rear bumpers + the grill if we wanted to... But then we wouldn't be able to blind cars in opposing traffic with our shiny grill anymore
On a more serious note, i'm actually thinking of changing out the headlights, tail lights, and due to a scratch, the rear bumper when it comes out, lets hope there's still WDP though.

Wow, I really like the changes! What they actually did was pretty subtle but the results are very dramatic. It's all subjective, but the way the 4Gs originally looked to me just seemed very busy and the front, slightly garish. This update looks so much cleaner.

I saw that too. I sure hope that does not carry over to the production models b/c if it does that is a huge mistake on Acura's part. I have them OEM on my Maxima and several Nissan and Infiniti products get them and I can tell you from experience that these tires are trash. They are lousy in almost every aspect, except tread wear unfortunately. That has been great with them. I am just biding my time till they where out so I can put some Michelin or Bridgestone on!

lol Terrible tires that have only one thing going for them....they never wear out. The frugal drivers definition of hell.
