Newbie + trailer hitch installed

Hi there. I just bought my 2010 TL tech 18 2 weeks ago.

I just got my new trailer hitch installed. I pull my jetski with my cars.

And please dont say ..you cant tow with a car..blah blah or buy a truck..

Most any car has plenty of power and braking to pull a 750lb ski.

Anyways ..here is the hitch..
http://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Hitc...eid=2010300368

The install was much harder then the instructions say though.
And i have installed these on all my past 5 cars.

To install you have to remove the whole drivers side exhaust and lower the other side alot.
Remove all heat shields and there is a large plastic cover kind of like an undertray that has to be removed and you cannot reinstall it back.

Well if you want more details on the install just ask.

Welcome to the forums and congrats. I see that you are in Orlando. We are setting up a meet in St. Pete on Aug 21st- heading to the Dupont Registry. Go to the Region section on AZ and then look for the Southeast subforum if your interested in more info.

I've been wanting to do this for a while but was worried about how it would look. Can you post some pics? Thanks!

I'm pretty sure that TL has a 6MT as well. Not sure I'd be willing to tow a Malibu (?) with the old autotragic in a 2nd gen TL.

yeah Kris' TL is a 6 speed as well as the fastest/ most reliable 2nd gen on here.... IMO of course.

Its scary enough having people in the car with those crappy trannies let alone try to haul a trailer with something on it lol.

A buddy of mine is also a real Honda loyalist: cars, motorcycles, lawnmowers, generator ; all Honda for the past thirty years !
Then recently when he ran into a mechanical problem on a van that was just out of warranty, Honda Canada took care of him anyway. It's that kind of integrity that helped in making me gravitate towards a Honda product when it recently came time to buying a new car; I can attest that Nissan/Infiniti have a very, very long way to go in that respect.

You have to splice into the harness attached to the brake lights.
The TL has no plug and play harness.

What kind of hitch do you have on your TL? Is that a Reese? Also, is that auto trans or manual? I want to trailer an XR650R which is about 300 pounds (big heavy pig) and the trailer can't weigh much more than a couple hundred.

Do you ever have any traction/stability issues pulling a trailer with a front-wheel drive car?

Just curious.

Thanks for the write up. This seems like a good solution for a trailer hitch bike rack as well.
