Hi all. Finally traded in my 06 TSX w/230k miles on it yesterday for a new 14 TL SH-AWD TECH yesterday. Love the car so far. However, I'm already hearing a terrible rattle from what appears to be coming from the front passenger door. It's not one of those light rattles, it's very obvious. The car literally has 47 miles on it right now. Any common issues with the door rattles? Any help would be appreciated.

Congrats on your TL, what color?

As far as the door rattle, we've had our TL for over 3 years and never had a rattle in the door.. Since you just picked it up yesterday I would drive back to the dealer today if possible and have them address this ASAP.. No sense in waiting.

If you can't make it there today at least call them to let them know.

Follow the instructions in the red in order to open the links. I think there is one about a door rattle with the speaker on the older models but it may very well apply to the newer ones as well. Either way, the dealer will be able to take care of it because your car is brand new and because it's an obvious rattle.

sounds like you had a long run with your TSX. the TL is a different beast, and hopefully you enjoy it just as much

as for the rattle, that's unfortunate...i'm gonna ask the one dummy question first, there isn't anything in your passenger door jam or glove box that's rattling around while you drive is there?

if not, i'd take it back to the dealer and show them...probably something pretty simple to solve if it's coming from the door

Speaking of which, I remember reading about a member here who had a rattle from the passenger side that was actually due to an object (a pen, to be exact) that was put in a little compartment to the bottom right of the center console area. It's easy to miss as it's hard to see, especially if your interior is black. It would be near your knees if you sit forward. Kinda hard to explain.. Maybe I'll take a picture later and post it. I only noticed it because I have the beige/parchment interior on my TL which makes it harder to miss.

Thanks for the welcome and the advice. I got a silver moon with black interior, absolutely love the silver color. On everyone's advice, I took the car back to the dealer today and service manager test drove the car with me. He heard the sound as well and kept insisting it was the glove compartment despite my telling him it's coming from the door. He added some felt to the lining on the glove box but no luck. He asked that I bring it back next week so they have more time to look at it.

Congratulations on your new TL pick up, hope you enjoy your new TL.
The only rattling that I hear is from my sunglasses in the sunglasses holder when I turn up my stereo. other than that nothing at all.

I would drive right back to the dealership and make sure they check that out.
