New 2009 SH-AWD owner
Hi all,
New owner of a 2009 sh-awd, just picked it up this week. 50K KM's (31K miles)....barely broken in. I have owned a Honda prelude many years ago, this is my first Acura. The brand is known for reliability but i still surfed through many threads and posts on this forum to get information on the car and give me a bit of reassurance before purchasing. Lots of great info on this site. I am really glad I bought the car and happy to be part of the TL community.
Cheers

Welcome. Which province are you in, Les?
(I've assumed you're in Canada due to the km reference, and that your name is "Les" because of your username and the fact that I grew up on WKRP)

Congrats and welcome. I am sure you will like the car.
Don't listen to all the carping about the "beak". LOL. :-)
I personally prefer the beak to the update. Can you spell B L A N D ?
I bought my '10 TL from an Acura dealer with 58,000 km at the time.
It was off lease, just over two years old. The dealer assured me that everything was detailed and shipshape. Hohoho.
The brake pads and the rotors were seized and rusty. The oil was like black tar you would put on a roof. The filters were all filthy.
But I can easily fix all that stuff and I have. I'm not unhappy, I got a great price. I strongly recommend you service all the maintenance items and if you can, do it yourself. Start with the cabin filter!!
Regards.
PS. Where are you and what did you pay?

Thank you everyone,
I love this car. Great weekend to drive, Im in Georgetown and have been cruising the winding backroads all weekend! Way back when i had an 86 special edition prelude, fun but totally different class. Ill post pics soon. Im not a super mod'er but like to make cars my own. I'm going to enjoy surfing the forum for some interesting projects to take on.
