WTF?
why are you posting this shit in here? This is a roll call thread, at least introduce yourself first!!!

hahahahah j/k
really though, wrong section. Check out the 4g section for info. I have an 04 so I cant help you. This link may help
https://acurazine.com/forums/4g-tl-2009-2014-123/4g-tl-official-review-thread-644866/

this is the 4g section
https://acurazine.com/forums/4g-tl-2009-2014-123/

If you are specifically looking for someone in CT that has an 09 TL I am not aware of anyone.

Yes, you are 100% correct!! This is definitely the 4G TL section!

This was originally posted in the NE regional section which is when I made that comment. A mod must have moved it and not deleted my post because it contained the links.

notice where my post says this is a roll call thread, that is where it was originally.

I'm on the Island, we have not had the car long but it is like most Acura's and it's solid. Go for it, great car. I really recommend the SH-AWD.

I don't like people treating noobs like that. The rest of your post was great. Why you started your post the way you did is beyond me. Tone it down.

Um I really hope you are kidding!!! read the rest of my post, it was a joke, clearly!!
I would never ever treat anyone like that no matter if they are new or not, not my style. The fact that you would think that about me bothers me.
If i was gonna be an ass why would I have bothered to post links and try to help him?

No, I'm not kidding. You've been here long enough to use red for jokes/sarcasm. Read the rest of my post above. I recognized that the rest of your post was great. Think before you post.

charlie, I am sorry if what I said came off wrong or if I offended you. I was just kidding, seriously. I really did want to help you that is why I posted the links.

I understand you are still learning the forum, no big deal. No matter where you post you will get help and if it happens to be in the wrong place a mod will just move it to the the correct place, so it is more visable to the correct group of people.

why do you want an 09 then?
If I was going to upgrade I would go with an 08 type-s but that's just me. I dont like the body or the interior of the 09.
Anyways you should really think about coming out to one of our local meets. We all love our TL's, we are a cool bunch of people, and it's always nice to know someone local to do mods with too.

the 09 is great imo
i do prefer the 3g exterior to the 4g
but i think the 4g interior is top notch

performance wasn't too big a deal with me
and the 4g does surprisingly well for it's size

test drive the fwd AND the sh-awd before deciding
they drive pretty differently

overall i say it's a great cruiser with plenty of power when needed

Anyways...regarding CarrieLynn.

Welcome to forum Charlie, I owned a 2005 3G, a great car! The 2009 4G with Tech is fantastic! Much improved interior, sweet navigation and sound system with a hardrive that you can burn CD's to, and the power is definitely improved! I don't feel that the FWD/AWD models drive that different other than the AWD has sweeter rims and cornering is fun with less body roll than the FWD model, but the FWD is cushier at time for more luxury. Since your back east the AWD would mean more traction on your icy roads during winter. The car is fantastic, be prepared to defend it as you see most 3G members are not happy about the new grill and tapered rear, which I love. Good luck with your decision!

I traded a 2006 TL for a 2009 TL w/Nav. I like the 2009 TL much better, I only have several hundred miles on it, but so far the car has been great. The interior is very comfortable, more room than the 2006 had. The interior and gadgets in the 2009 TL are much better. The only thing that is not quite as good is the gas mileage on the 2009 is about 2mpg less than the 2006. But the 2009 is not totaly broke in yet. Highway mpg on the 09 is very good, but it seems like the city driving really nocks down my mpg.
Just my opionions !!!

You probably compare old rating on 06 with new rating on 09?
According to www.fueleconony.gov 06TL and 09TL FWD are both rated 18/26. That means 09TL is better since the engine is bigger and more horsepower.

I had the same concern about MPG when I upgraded from my 04TL to the 09TL-AWD. It took about 2k miles before the city mileage improved. I average around 19.5 for city driving which is what I mostly do. That is about the same as my 04.

How do you get 19.5mpg in the city?!? I can get 25.x on the highway but city... I'm usually in the 15~17s and I'm not that heavy footed.

How much mileage do you have? I have 4800 now and it seems to have improved once I hit 2-2500 miles.

i drive maybe 65hwy/35city and i currently get average 23-24 mpg

before 1500 miles though i was getting 22-23

i think a 280mile trip to san diego and back helped break it in very well
i'm not heavy footed but i do like to drive maybe +5 mph in city
and average 80mph highway
i rarely my hard stops or speed up quickly though

i think consistency does a lot more for fuel economy than driving slower

Charlie,

i recently bought an 09 tl SH-AWD. i liked the G37 better before i test drove the cars. the G is too small, the back seat isn't big enough for rear facing car seats, which was a must for me. and the front of the car felt enclosed. Also if you test drive it notice the where the gas pedal is and check out how the hump kicks out a couple of inches from where the console starts to come up. Made me feel like i didn't have enough leg room. The TL handles much better. the stereo is fantastic, i don't need to put in my $3000 stereo i ripped out of my WRX (although i could use more bass ) Plus i don't know where in CT you are from, but the people in Harte Infiniti in Hartford are D!cks. I've been there twice over the last 3 years for test drives and they treated my wife the same way. They lied about things. Said Acura used a frame and chassis, not a unit body and the strut bars are because Acura didn't design the car correctly. i couldn't believe my ears. Well that is just my huble opinion. Good luck shopping!

I have about 5300miles right now. I make a series of short trips often which might be the case? I don't know but it doesn't bother me too much since it's a blast to drive

09 is very neat

Hi there...Im in a large Acura dealer in Florida. The difference in the 08 to the 09 car is substantial. The 09 besides being bigger is better appointed. It is not as stiff as the 08 and goes like hell. I am really enjoying my 09. Let em know if you need any specs etc.etc.

Most people that bash the new TL don't look past the new Grill. They think they all performance people if they felt the neutral handling of the SH_AWD they would forget all about the last gens with the front wheel drive.

When they get over it they will get one.

The 3G was a much better car in every way.
The gas mileage is poor, the steering is crazy, the navigation sucks, the
car rattles in many places, the window screeches.. Ive also realized the car
is abnormally big. You have to drive it like a car with a wide body kit and side
skirts. I found this out the hard way.

Ditto here.

Not even a hint of any of those problems. The car is built like a s**t brickhouse. Not a squeek or rattle anywhere. Amazingly solid vehicle.

i got a slight window screech on the rear right window but that's really it
imma go take it to the dealer soon
probably just to adjust the alignment

also i really don't think you can get a bigger car and not expect it to drive like a bigger car

I live in Mass and have had no problems since buying the car in January. I love it.

Although I never been there, I've heard good things about Acura of Avon.

I owned a 04 TL just 6 months into the modle and while it was reliable the build quality and annoying fit and finish issues were more than i expected. The 09 TL is a major improviement over typical Honda year 1 build quality. I am very impressed with build quality and fit and finish. Car is solid. I have mine 4 months and 5K miles.

I too purchased both my 2005 TL and my 2009 TL from Milford Acura and would say they have been great to deal with for the past 4 years especially now they have been under a new general manager for the past 6 months.

Ok, I can understand the rattles. My last 5 cars (3 BMW's, 1 Lexus, 1 Infiniti) all developed rattles at some point. However, the other stuff you mentioned like steering and navigation I don't get your complaint......I mean didn't you test drive the car before you purchased it? The way you complain about the car in this post and in previous ones in the past, it sounds like you bought your car sight unseen through something like the internet. I don't know how you can make a major purchase like a car and not know everything that you're getting into.

Im not complaining. The OP wanted to know the issues and I stated them.
Just because it's my car, it doesnt mean that it's the best car in the world.
Also, a test drive can only tell you so much. A lot of things, you wont find out
until you drive it everyday. It's kind of like a wife

Drove an 04 TL Tech previously, recently got the 09 TL AWD Tech. Steering between FWD and AWD is very different IF you push through turns (which is a lot of fun). The AWD can corner in ways that FWD can't. IMHO the car corners very well and the larger size doesn't hinder it. So far my car is very solid, no rattles. There may be a glitch with navi identifying unverified areas but otherwise it is fine. A lot of discussion about the looks of the car - I happen to like both interior and exterior. It definitely draws attention and I have had several comments from stangers about how much they like the car.

I had an 05 3G base and bought a 4G Tech this evening... a lot of information above were my reasons.

Style
power
ride
nav
Initial build quality is great....

For the money - I am not sure you can get a car with more options and quality that this one....
