Need advice on purchasing a new TL
I am looking to get either a 2010 or 2011 TL with tech
first thought about getting a used certified TL/tech, found some with 14k and under but asking price was about 35k and then i find here that people have purchased a 2011 for same price.
the sh awd model is tempting but this will be a vehicle my wife will drive. its safer yeah but less gas mileage and more of a motivator to drive fast and get tickets.
whats is a used 2010 really worth, how low can i bargain?
I have looked on truecar and edmunds and they are listed at 33701 New I assume new.
I am currently deployed and will be having my wife walk in with a number in mind and ask for that or walk out. i understand taxes and ad fees but really want to give her a heads up on what exactly to ask for and what not to agree to.
is acura's maintenance plan worth while?
please give you advise.

I would think the 2010 supply is getting pretty slim but if you can find one in the color you want then I'm sure you'd get a better deal than on an 11. I'm sure others will chime in on the pricing. AFA the maintenence plan goes I wouldn't bother. TL's are very reliable and the basic stuff such as oil changes, etc are DIY for the most part. BTW, thank you for serving our country.

I purchased a 2011 TL with Tech for $37,000 drive out about 3 weeks ago in Houston. I was looking for a 2010 but could not find any near me with the colors and the tech package i wanted.

I looked at a certified 2010 AWD/Tech with 6000 miles on it and the dealer didn't wan to go lower than $35k.
He stated the reason was, that it came with a better warranty than a new one, which is actually true.
But I gave a rat's arse and bought a new 2011 for $1.5k more, especially since the APR is the same with 0.9%.

You are the buyer, you never look like a retard!
I walked out of the dealer-ship when they said they can't go lower than $38.2k. I said BS shook his hand and left. 5min later I got a call from the manager with whom I started haggling. I ended up paying $36.5k, which I thought (and truecar etc agreed) was a good price.

Ryan, the TL's are a good car. They run and run and run. It will be a safe car for your wife and will last for a long time.
Best of luck on your purchase. Let us know how things turn out.
