My TL back spoiler rubber gasket keeps "expanding out" and I have to cut it...

Any of you 4G Tech owner have this problem??

I notice that once in a while the rubber seal stripes between the spoiler and the trunk lid "expand" sticking out a tenth of an inch or so and I have to carefully cut it...it happened to me at least 3-4 times since I did purchase the car (October 2010) on both side of the spoiler.

It is rather annoying...I guess they do because of temperature...hopefully I did cut enough material away that they will not stick out anymore....

Never seen that happen before. If under warranty, you probably should have taken it in. In cold temps, you may not have enough left now. That's assuming your car will be in cold temps.

This may be overkill, but maybe if it continues to be a sealing problem - the dealer could remove the spoiler and reseal/install it.?

If the spoiler is not screwed on tightly, minor movement will dislocate and force out the rubber gasket.

Mine started doing this a month or two ago. The gasket is sticking out about half an inch or so. The dealer is an hour away so I haven't taken it in yet. Figure the next time I need maintenance I will have them check it, unless the spoiler gets loose before then.

Had this prob at one of the ends, i figured it was double backed tape... I put some silicone on a toothpick and glued it back into place.

Edit, did this about a month ago in the middle of summer and It hasn't happened again.

I had the same issue as well... dealer replaced spoiler under warranty about a year ago and the problem has not resurfaced....
