Question Matte colored front grill and rear trunk garnish?

I really want to paint my 09's front and rear silver garnish to match RBP

However, I was thinking of having it painted in matte...

Has it been done before? How do you guys think it'll look?

why would you go matte over color matched if they are both going to be paint?

color match gives a more refined look.. if you go matte.. id think you put on plastidip.. just saying..

I sort of went this direction OP. The outer portion of my front grille and my rear trim piece are wrapped in matte black vinyl. I didn't want the entire front grille to be a matte finish but I wanted to keep with Acura's subtle difference in finish of those parts. I really like it, especially the rear trim.

Here are some pics from my progress thread:

Eh, plastidip is:

1. Cheap
2. Non-permanent

If he wants to use it I don't think it's really hurting anything. I definitely wouldn't want to drop ~$100 to have stuff painted only to find out I didn't like the look.

Hmmm there seems to be confusion, let me try to clarify:

I want to paint my front and rear silver trim pieces in RBP paint with a matte finish, NOT plasti dip

ucf_bronco, that looks bad ass

Anybody kind enough to Photoshop these pictures?

Thanks!

i think it will look unfinished in matte... I'd definitely color match with the gloss. If you want contrast doing the webbed mesh in bright silver like bronco and others have done is a nice accent

Well sounds like you made up your mind. While most would prefer a color match instead of matte the only one you need to please is yourself. Post some pics after its finished.
