Make under dash lights brighter
I'm going for a rainbow next.
One of my buddies asked me how difficult it'd be to swap the LED out. Since I've got some spares I may play around with it. Would be cool to put like an RGB one and toss a controller somewhere.

Final Update -
34760-TL0-J11 from the TSX Wagon is in fact a blue LED light w/ CLEAR lens
Since I already have mine upgraded, if anyone wants to buy it I'll sell it for what I paid shipped ($15)
Still BNIB, we just opened the bag to validate the part

I did have to wait ~2 weeks for that LED because they were on backorder or something. If they give you the runaround let me know. I've got no reason to keep it.
Did the drilling mod tonight being cheap and not buying the clear cover. It was easy and fast. I might re-drill the wider holes than 1/4" and also opt later for the clear TSX lenses.
This drilling mod, however, is brilliant, and does the trick.

Is the same part number for both sides, drivers and passenger?
Blue lights for feet?
I have a 2013 acura tl been driving it since 2014 a year ago I noticed I had blue lights under the dash whear your feet go when your sitting and driving with the headlights on cool. So time goes by and I read a post on this site about little mods and it talks about the blue lights and the black plastic cover that covers it. Well you can take both panels off driver and passenger side and drill holes through the black plastic cover that covers the blue light and make it shine brighter. Took me about 10 minutes to do and thank you for this nice little mod now my feet are lighting up blue and so are the pedals and looks cool.
Hey guys I dont know if you guys already figured this out or if you wanna make your leds under your dash brighter. I did so heres a no cost way to do it.
1. pull under dash panels down. see pics below showing most clips. Driver side has a twist fastener. i am pointing to it in a pic.
2. twist out the tinted black housing around the blue led light harness from the under dash panel.
3. unclip the tinted black housing from the blue led light harness.
test light intensity before doing step 4 because you cant go back after if it is too bright for you.
4. drill out the center portion of the tinted housing. i drilled out the entire center to prevent shadows.
5. reinstall and your done.
let me know if you have questions.
some pics just are to show how bad my carpeting job was done. I dont think my bmw was like this.

Just google the part number. There are several places that offer it.
NOTE: The TL is LED is blue but the cover is an OPAQUE black plastic so you will NOT see blue in the front footwell which is STUPID unless you modify it or buy the LED above and replace the 'cap'.
NOTE: You can take out the cap/cover off the LED unit and use a counter sink drill bit to make a nice hole on the black cover (Stock TL), and in the image above, the cover is BLACK TL /BLUE ACCORD/CLEAR TSX so what you are paying for is the colored LED (Red/Amber). After drilling the hold, I created a cover using a clear plastic sheet (just manually cut out a circle to fit) and you are done. I used a clear egg shell carton to cut out the cover.
This is the CHEAPEST and EASIEST mod you can do and it is totally worth it.

Permanent mods like drilling the cap when OEM clear lenses are available seems silly. I kept the blue LED but tossed on the clear lens.
Hi guys, I'm trying to retrofit this on my RL however. I don't understand why the led light has a cap, so where the lights out if the cover stay there without making a hole. Sorry ricky dum dum here!!! What diameter hole have you guys done to get a decent brightness.
Here's a photo how it comes from factory

Here's after I removed the cap
