Loose steering

I noticed today after a trip on the highway, the steering became very loose and the steering wheel doesn't feel as firm. After turning off and starting the car up after the trip on the highway I noticed the steering has a lot of play and isn't as firm, it takes more movement to turn the same degree. I have a 2010 TL FWD, what could cause this sudden issue.

First check the steering column adjustment, if everything is ok, then lift each front side and try each wheel for play.

1. Loosen the adjustment, lift the steering wheel up and down, forward and backward, and lock it back.

2.
