Looking at a used TL...
I went to a local dealer last night and looked at a 2010 WDP TL SH-AWD Tech w/ 44k miles. The car was in great shape overall but it did have a scratch on the rear driver's side door. The car was a one owner vehicle, purchased and maintained at the dealership. The car also had a factory body kit on it, which I would've purchased myself. The dealer's price was $24,995. I was able to talk them down to $23,995 but they wouldn't go any further. I feel that the car is kind of on the high side but I think the condition and the kit account for part of that. Car Gurus rates the car as a "High Price" and says it's over market value by $1146 @ the $24,995 price. Part of me wants to buy it and be done with it. But the other part is saying wait til the end of the year and see if the car is still there. Besides another year older should drop the price even more right? What do you guys think? Thx

I would look around, when I bought mine earlier this year the dealer had a 2010 SH AWD tech in the same color you are looking at. It had 49k miles and and was a CPO listed for 20k, they sold it for 19k. Try looking at Open road Acura and Precision Acura, they're not to far from you.

that's high. go with your gut on that one. you should be paying around 21k-22k in perfect condition and talking dealer to a couple thousand more off. 24-25k is high. keep looking. More and more are showing up on the lot. plus I'd haggle right after christmas before the new year!!!!!! We all know why.....

Yea you guys are all right... Think I got caught up in the moment. Im gonna call and see if they're willing to negotiate anymore and if not just hold off til after Xmas. If he'll come down to around 21k then I'll move on it, but I highly doubt that.

OP said it was a tech and that is too much i got mine for way less than that and this was about 2 years ago maybe because it was a borealis blue lol i think im the only one with that color everywhere i go people say oh he in the area thats not good
...with that price you should be getting at 12+ advance and all that with the tlx out keep looking and dont rush. and check to see if it had torque converter issues

think for SH-AWD cars that color was only the 1st yr?

Called to tell the dealer that I wanted more off, even showed him a similar vehicle in the area that was going for 20,500. He stated he couldn't go any lower, so I asked him to refund my deposit. He called back about 20 minutes later saying that he could do $23,500 now. He says the body kit makes his car more desirable. The way I figure it's about an $1100 savings by the kit already being on the car. I may try to get him to do $23,500 out the door and see if he bites.

I'm not sure about you're exact requirements, but there is a blacked out 2011 near me with umber interior and SH AWD, the guy is asking 19k for it. 64k miles. I have seen him lower the price a few times.

Good for you. It amazes me how the stealership thinks you are at their mercy. Hold out and don't budge until you're completely satisfied and you find the car that you really want. Besides, you already have a nice car.

If you're willing to wait (and the car is still available), wait until the very end of December (like 12/30 or 12/31), give a last lower price that's acceptable to you, and then buy it. If not, keep looking...there's planty of them around.

Welp... The dealer with the TL that I was trying to negotiate on isn't budging. He refunded my deposit and hasn't been in contact since. I see they still have it on their website, but I'll lose leverage if I call for it again. I've since found another '10 SH-AWD, but it's at a 3rd party lot and it's already on it's second owner. However, it's white with umber interior which is my 1st choice. I think I'm gonna go check it out and see how she looks and drives. I've never purchased a non-certified car before, so this is going to be interesting.

Update: The '10 TL sold right before the Holidays so that killed my chance to negotiate on it more. I don't feel as bad as I thought I would with missing the sale because it was a 2010, and I think I'd rather have newer. I'm changing my focus to a 12 and up, AWD, and hopefully the Advance package. One thing I'm noticing is there's not an abundance out there that qualify with the BWP/Ebony combo that I'm after, even without the Advance package. I was giving serious thought to leasing a '15 GS350 F Sport being that I get tired of cars quick. For some reason I can't pull the trigger, even with the dealer giving me a smoking deal. I make stuff way too hard.

I test drove a 13' Advance Grey on Blk with 13k miles for $32k the other day. Didn't get much time to drive in it because the dealership was closing (Xmas Eve) but it was a nice car. I need more seat time in it to get a better feel if I like it better than the 12' Audi A6 I test drove directly after. That car was pretty dam nice but I'm not yet sold on it.

I got mine in Aug 2014 for $26,000 CDN with 62,000KM.
SH-AWD with tech pack - A spec. Basically I have body kit (which makes the car absolutely great with exhaust accents and A-Spec badge and 19 inch HPT. Those tires are later put in 2012 and up advanced package.
I don't like the dual exhaust in 2012 and up. I love the quad exhaust tips in 2009-2011.
Good luck with you purchase.
