I'm resurrecting this thread My 2012 TL SH-AWD is scheduled to arrive in November, but I want to order my LEDs now and be ready!

Can anyone (maybe Mr. Skytech) with a 2012 take some photos (please!) of the light bulbs (without the lens) for the license plate bulb and the bulbs for the door (courtesy lights)?

For the doors, are there lights only for the front doors or the back doors, too?

Finally, for the trunk, how many bulbs are there? And if anyone has a photo of that bulb, that would be helpful.

Thanks *so* much in advance!!

Those are the replacement bulb numbers for the 09 TL. If your talking about the front turn signal next to the fog lights, I have changed mine out to Led switchbacks, so they run white when the lights are on, and switch to amber when you signal. You can get these on V-Leds.com. If you change the turn signal bulbs to LED you will have to install resistors to avoid hyperblinking, do a search there are a few DIY on here. I am not sure about changing out the DRL's, I was interested in this as well, but almost everything I read in different threads people were having issues with the DRL warning light coming on.
Great list, but the trunk light is incorrect. The trunk uses a 32mm festoon bulb. Also the step\courtesy will take a 168 provided it is not too bulky.

The LED switchbacks look fantastic but MUST be used with the load resistors. The load resistors sink enough current to ground to simulate the current taken by a filament bulb. they will get HOT, most are 6ohm 50watt, at 14volts that is a little over 2 amps, a 27Watt filament bulb (like the flasher on the TL) consumes 2 amps, that is how the value is calculated. It is VERY important that they are not in contact with plastic parts and that the grounding is done correctly with minimal impedance. For the front flashers the load resistors are connected to the thicker of the two colored wires going to the bulb socket (the black is the ground wire, the thinner wire is the sidelight filament). You can then connect the ground end of the load resistor to the black wire or, better still attach a ring to the wire and attachs securely to the underbody lip spoiler bolt to the far left and far right, the load resistor leads will just reach in the configuration. Finally use double sided tape to secure the load resistor the the frame.
You will not be disappointed, mine came from www.jdmiToy.com, $42 including resistors.

Macguitar, I became somewhat obsessed with getting rid of all yellow incandescents and switched to LED's. License Plate and Door Courtesy all use 168 (probably the most common auto bulb there is), you need 4 in all, great value from here http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0047RV8WG
there are none in the rear doors on a TL. The Trunk uses a single 32mm Festoon style bulb.

See my earlier post with regard to DRL's and LED switchbacks for the front sidelight\turn signals. These come from http://www/jdmiToy.com
Search the site for the TL 9005 LED DRL kit, complete with Load resistors (which you must use), and also the 1157 switchbacks, for the sidelight\turn signals.
Say goodbye to nasty yellow lighting.

Wow! Thanks so much for the info, much appreciated! One question I have is about the direction/type of bulb. If you look here:

http://www.v-leds.com/194-168-158-LE...orLanding/true

They have 360, Flank, and Forward. Which type would be the best for License Plate and which type for the doors? Thanks again!

Foward style for the license plate (as you only need downlighting)and 360 for the doors (still need downlighting but these are instalkled horizontally rather than vertically like the license plate bulbs) would be my recommendation. Just be careful that you do not choose anything too bulky, a standard 168 filament bulb is pretty small so space is at a bit of a premium especially in the doors.

I used the flank style for my puddle lights, but installed blue for something a bit different. They're pretty bright, though.

The dome lights are LED's stock and are soldered to the circuit board. They are not easily replaced. There is write-up on here by a member that managed to swap them out with some different SMD LED's but it's not just a basic swap like the other bulbs. As for the vanity lights, I think the standard V-LED vanity LED bulbs should work just fine:
