Lighted Paddle Shifter

I just noticed. Does the paddle shifter have a dimmed LED light when you have your driving light or headlamp on or is it from the center overhead courtesy blue LED light?

Overhead LEDs. I am 99% sure the Paddles are not illuminated in any deliberate way.

Ya thats what I thought too. I was in my garge one night just playing around the headlamp and noticed the + and - on the paddle shifter have a dim blue light. So I don't think it might be the overhead LEDs. Good to know, I was about to put carbon fiber on it too LOL.

There's someone on the Second Gen TSX forums that was able to change their lights on the paddles...It'll take too much time to look for the link though lol

My '11 Tech, non SH are lighted. They look the same as the rest of the steering wheel controls at night.

They do light up but not sure if it's a light or glow in the dark

I believe it is a light. The intensity is pretty constant and the light stays on for some time. I would suspect that "glow in the dark" would eventually fade to black.

Mine are not glow in the dark. I just went out to my dark garage. They lit up the moment the lights turned on. I turned the lights off, and they are off. My car is an '11. As to how the previous models worked, I can't comment. All I can state is that mine are lit like the rest of the steering wheel controls.

They actually do light up upon turning on the lights. I could have sworn I saw mines slightly illuminated at dawn..guess I had I had my lights on without noticing.

After checking again I would have to agree that the illumination is part of the steering controls and is not glow in the dark.

its not glow in the dark...its lighted...i thought it was just the sh models, but i guess its the color of the paddle it self...the sh models have silver paddles, and the non sh models have black paddles...

I found on the shifter assembly goes for $25 each. Not bad...maybe buy a set and convert it into carbon fiber...

They're probably lit through a fiberglass or something, which guides the light from the actual light of the steering wheel control to the paddles. I don't think the paddles have their an own LED.

I'm still wondering where the glow in the dark suggestions came from. They light up white like all other buttons.

My apologies for my initial post. I guess I never actually paid enough attention to the paddles at night.
