Lifetime Oil Filter?

http://www.37degreefilters.com/compo...V6%203.7L%20FI

i just changed my oil and i was just looking at videos to see what the proper methods were and what was the difference between all the filters.

from my understanding, smaller particles, less than 10 microns are more damaging than larger particles. traditional oil filters only filter out 23 microns or larger.

i ran across the lifetime oil filter video, went online to find it, and for 250, it seemed pretty stupid to waste that much money on a filter. but then i did the math, and at $11 per filter (i went with a bosch distance plus) it comes out to about the price of 22~23 oil filters. multiply that by 5k for the mileage at which i should change my oil (correct me if im wrong here, first time i changed the oil on my 09 TL, had older cars which i change at 3000 to 3500 ) and that comes out to 113,636 miles at which i would break even. I plan on keeping the car till it dies out or giving it my little brother once i upgrade. Wondering if it would be worth the investment to actually buy one of these things?

it says it can filter out up to 15 microns, which is still way better than traditional oil filters.

he also mentions that you clean the oil filter, which would eat up more time in the oil change, usually takes me 15 mins at home.

just looking for thoughts and ideas, inputs.

I would not bother. Too much trouble cleaning and almost anyone can get 200k out of an engine with timely oil changes.

i think it would be cheaper to just buy a $5 oil filter every time you change your oil instead of spending $250+ on this product..

i can buy 50 oil filters for that price and 50 oil filters is way more than what a car needs.

I have 2 on my custom Porsche race motor and love them! The ones I used are called Pure Power and they are stunning! They are expensive but 100% of the oil is filtered and nothing is bypassed! The filter also has a bunch of very strong magnets built into it. If you can afford them they are the best of the best in my opinion!
