Lease info and help please
Hello friends,
Have been leasing TL's since the first generation dating back to the year 2000. My current lease expires 8/1/09 and I am driving a 3G TL - stock - paying $442 a month - live in NJ. The 4G is starting to grow on me after wifey got one in Feb. I was at dealership today and the current lease for 2009 base TL (12k miles - 36months) came to $455 a month. They will eat my last payment - out of pocket will be $1600 representing first month 's payment, registration, bank, tire disposal (only in NJ) etc. Can drive one off the lot by Saturday. Have had a good realtionship with dealer since 1999 - I have been dealing with the same rep since then and feel they treat me fairly. Between wifey and I we have leased 6 TL's. Leasing works for me instead of financing (many reasons such as tax writeoff, company pays for portion of lease, etc.).
My question to any one who currently leased a 4G base TL with 12000 miles a year for 36 months - does the $455 number soundright? P.S. the $455 includes the NJ 7% sales tax.
Thanks...
P.P.S apologizes if this is the wrong place for this post - was not able to find a thread on leasing.

Sounds about right!
Thanks for all the responses.
1. Bigfish - did you have a trade in? It seems that $452 for a tech package is an awesome deal - how is that possible? A tech package lease 12/36mo shoudl be around $480. Were there any incentives or specials?
2. Cornelis - not sure I want to lease an accord at this time? the $455 I was quoted was for a base TL no tech, 12k/36mo with $1600 down (includes first month and other fees). Since they are willing to eat my last payment on my current2006 TL base, and since the down payment includes the first month, my out of pocket is roughly $700. What would be a non-ripoff number? I haven't signed anything yet, soI have some time.

Lease residuals are best when the car first comes out and then continues to drop as the car year moves foward. It is becuase the 09 is now almost a year old and the leasee pays for that depreciation. In otherwords, it was cheaper to lease this car months ago. If you plan to buy after the lease then it should not be a problem, otherwise you may want to look into financing instead. Being that this car has been selling for invoice or better from it's release, this is just about the worst time to lease it, if you are going to get it close the deal before the end of the month, unless they give you a better deal, July and August might be worse.

That's pretty much exactly what I pay, and they ate the last two payments on my Infiniti. I'm in NY, bought in NJ (Open Road of Wayne). I put 2K out of pocket.
Not sure, but since I bought mine in December, and you're getting yours at an even friendlier time towards shoppers, should that be reflected in the price? I know this goes towards buying, but does it work with leasing as well?

Thanks BIGFISH. Leasing programs and incentives end on 6/30 that's why I went back and pulled the trigger - got 2009 TL base 12/36mon. with all incentives and them eating my last payment, the total price came to $33,480 (with NJ tax) which made my monthly payments $455. Was told by rep that the 2010 models will arive in 6-8 weeks and there are no incentives for them. Buying is good now, but only in the next few days... as winstrolvtec mentioned, July and August will be tough. However, most TL's sold were leases according to the rep. I saw the inventory on their database screen: 10 TECH's, 3 SH-AWD and about 25 stock TL's.
Thank you all for your input.
P.S. checkout www.truecar.com for a neat graphical analysis of pricing. According to them, the price I got (exclusind tax) was a good deal.
